Samson Dauda will aim to become a two-time Arnold Classic champion in March. On January 20, 2025, Dauda blasted through an intense back workout seven weeks from the 2025 Arnold Classic.

Samson Dauda is a man on fire after reaching the pinnacle of his career last year. While he began the 2024 bodybuilding season by losing his Arnold Classic title to Hadi Choopan (and then lost to Choopan at the 2024 Arnold Classic UK), he made a swift turnaround and quickly regained his momentum.

Right before the 2024 Mr. Olympia, Dauda decided to roll the dice and compete at the Tsunami Pro, knowing that the stakes were high. Despite the risks, he stunned everyone by seizing the victory. However, the deck was still stacked against him, as many questioned Dauda’s ability to maintain his conditioning for the Olympia.

Once again, Dauda would rise to the occasion and prove the doubters wrong. Despite facing off against former titleholders Hadi Choopan and Derek Lunsford, Samson Dauda emerged as the 2024 Mr. Olympia champion. Soon after his win, Dauda announced that he intended to compete at the 2025 Arnold Classic, emphasizing that he would never be a ‘one-show’ athlete.

With his sights set on dominating the stage in just a few short weeks, Dauda recently took to YouTube to walk fans through his intense back-day workout, featuring a few supersets. Supersets are a training system not only designed to save time but also to make for a more intense workout.

This is because practitioners must complete two exercises in quick succession, allowing for shorter resting periods while accelerating calorie-burning potential. Dauda also used these strategically in prep for the 2024 Mr. Olympia, which turned out to work in his favor quite well.

Find his exercise selections below:

  • Close Grip Lat Pulldown – (Superset A)
  • Cable Pullovers – (Superset B)
  • Incline Bench Close Grip Lat Pulldown – (Superset A)
  • Seated Cable Row – (Superset B)
  • Hammer Strength Single- Arm High Row Machine
  • Rack Pull

Samson Dauda explained that his workout provided a crazy pump that wouldn’t fade before the end of his training session.

“You get that crazy pump that doesn’t just fade away halfway through your session,” he said. “Back day is in the books. Less than seven weeks out from the Arnold. First back session of the week is in, our main first session of the week is in.”

Dauda revealed that his prep has been focused on bringing more back development throughout the 2025 bodybuilding season.

“Back is nice and intense, heavy, aggressive and we’re just going for broke. Really pushing for it. That’s something we want to see more improvements on coming to the stage this year, more back development,” he shared.

In addition to showcasing his intense back-day workout, Dauda has been proudly flaunting his massive physique in his recent updates. With only a few weeks before the 2025 Arnold Classic, Dauda is sending a message to his fellow opponents, which includes former Olympia champion Derek Lunsford, who has made it clear he is coming for the win.

Fans can look forward to seeing the current and former Olympia champions go head-to-head on the Arnold Classic stage from February 27 to March 1. Be sure to follow us here at Fitness Volt for live coverage of all the action!
