Former WWE superstar Sara Lee is best known for her winning run in the World Wrestling Entertainment reality competition series Tough Enough, which earned her a one-year contract to compete within the pro wrestling promotion. Teri Lee, Sara’s mother, issued a statement via social media on October 6, 2022, regarding her daughter’s untimely death at the young age of 30.
The Michigan native made her first appearance under the WWE banner in the sixth season of the show. She was at risk of elimination five times throughout the show but became a fan favorite due to her relatable personality.
“I think my fans can kind of relate to me because I’m a normal girl,” she told the Midland Daily News newspaper in Midland, Michigan, after being voted by fans as the female “Tough Enough” winner. “I’ve just been myself.”
Lee was proud of staying true to herself and was chosen as one of the winners by fan vote in Aug. 2015. She competed under the ring name “Hope” and lost her debut singles match to Alicia Fox.

Sara Lee’s Mother Reflects on Her Passing: ‘We Are All In Shock’
Sara Lee’s mother, Terri took to her Facebook account to announce the tragic news of her daughter’s passing.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our Sarah Weston has gone to be with Jesus,” her mother, Teri Lee, wrote in a statement. “We are all in shock and arrangements are not complete. We ask that you respectfully let our family mourn.”

The Wrestling Community Mourns the Loss of 30-yo Sara Lee
Wrestler Chelsea Green shared her reaction to the shocking news of Lee’s passing, tweeting:
“No tweet or amount of words can bring back this beautiful human, but all of my heart goes out to @TheWestinBlake & their family. Sara Lee will be missed greatly. The photo on the left is how I will always remember her – laughing, smiling, carefree,” she wrote.
Nicola Glencross, popularly known as WWE superstar Nikki A.S.H, took to her social media to write a heartfelt message.
“You were so good in so many ways. You loved your family and friends so much. you were so giving, warm and selfless. You made me giggle. No matter how long we went without seeing each other, we would always pick up right where we left. I love you Sara.”
WWE referee Shawn Bennett chimed in with his reaction and shared a fundraiser for her memorial.
“Heartbroken for the Weston Family. Sara Lee was one of the sweetest people I’ve met and her smile lit up a room. My love and hope for strength goes to Cory, and their three beautiful children. If able, please donate below.”
Sara always had a passion for fitness. While growing up, she was on the track team of Meridian high school in Sanford, Michigan. Before her days of gracing the wrestling ring, she was a competitive powerlifter.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, fellow former WWE star Wesley Blake and her three lovely children. She will continue to serve as an inspiration to the upcoming generations of wrestling prospects.
