Early Life
Born in Pereira, Columbia in 1988, Sonia Isaza grew up around the Andes Mountains. There is not a lot known about her childhood, or if she played any sports growing up. However, she does say that she was always an active and athletic kid.
Unlike some other athletes, Sonia never struggled too severely with body image issues, always being rather confident in herself. Instead, she began to find a love for fitness, after trying to push her body to its full extent. She started hitting the gym regularly, with the goal in mind to become a bodybuilder.
At first, Isaza did not know enough of nutrition and training techniques to fully get any sort of real results. Therefore she felt it best to hire a coach to help her with her goals. Immediately she began seeing much more rapid results, than what she was getting on her own. Within just a year and a half, Sonia said that she felt like a new person, due to the impressive gains she got.

After Sonia began to put on some muscle mass and size, she started to take her bodybuilding pursuits more seriously. She was beginning to feel even more confident in her physique and wanted to take her athletic endeavors to the next level. Therefore she opted to move from her home country of Columbia to the United States, so she could further pursue her bodybuilding career.

Isaza moved to California in 2006, focused on carving her path as a bodybuilding competitor. After a few more months of intense training and diet, she finally felt ready to compete. As such, she started taking to local contests, finding a good amount of success. In fact, she was able to ride this success all the way to a qualification to the Arnold Classic Australia at one point. However, she quickly began to realize that her true passion was somewhere else.

As she started to see positive changes in her physique, Sonia Isaza started to share her progress online, like many other athletes. This has turned out to be a great idea, as her pictures began to gain traction, garnering her some attention on her social media. At the time of writing, she has surpassed 3 million followers on her Instagram page, with people being drawn to her impeccable physique.
As her social media following began to grow, businesses started to reach out to Sonia, in order to sponsor her and use her as a model for their brands. Over the years she has been a fitness model and sponsored athlete for several brands. Although she primarily does her promoting through her social media, rather than for print media.
Sonia Isaza – Training Regimen
When it comes to her training, Sonia Isaza likes to focus primarily on her glutes and abs. These are by far her most impressive muscle groups, so her work clearly pays off. With that in mind, most people would think she has some sort of intricate programming for her training, but she mainly keeps things simple.
For her glutes, Sonia tends to mainly use the Smith machine. She feels that doing squats on the smith machine takes some of the tension off of her back. Moreover, she uses this to isolate the exercises to specific muscle groups. In addition to that, she has a tendency to do lunges with weights, if she wishes she to alternate.
As for her abs, Isaza pays that special attention, feeling that every ab workout should be done with weights, no matter what it is. Not only that, but she likes to switch up her ab workouts on a regular basis. So one day she may go 10-14 reps doing cable crunches, and another she might do hanging leg raises or reverse crunches with a yoga ball.

Diet and Nutrition
When it comes to her diet, Sonia Isaza tends to eat clean most of the time, only eating a lot of carbs after heavy workouts. She feels that being strict and consistent on her nutrition provides her with results that she can track. This allows her to make adjustments as needed, to keep her body weight under control. That being said, she is not opposed to the occasional cheat meal, oftentimes opting for curry and kebobs.
When it comes to supplements, Sonia takes a fair amount. She is sponsored by the supplement company Nitrafit, which is a big supplier of her stack. The primary thing she uses is a fat burner, to help keep her body fat at a low level while maintaining her strength and energy.
