The 2024 World’s Strongest Man took place on May 1-5 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and turned out to be one of the greatest editions of the competition in recent years. Both the qualifiers and finals proved to be extremely tense and unpredictable, mainly due to the abundance of elite Strongman athletes. However, Tom Stoltman managed to come out on top once again.

Coming into the 2024 World’s Strongest Man competition, Tom Stoltman and Mitchell Hooper were the main two picks of many fans to win the title. Both felt immense pressure, as Hooper won the competition in 2023, but Stoltman won it in 2021 and 2022. So, it turned out to be the battle of the champions.

It was definitely a tight battle between the two, as 5.5 points ended up separating them. However, the outcome suited Tom Stoltman better, as he walked away with his third World’s Strongest Man title. His performance in the finals was nothing short of spectacular, as he did not drop many points in either of the six events. So, Tom managed to win the World’s Strongest Man competition for the third time in his career.

Tom Stoltman’s 2024 World’s Strongest Man Performance

Qualifiers

  • Webster Stones: 29.74 meters
  • Deadlift Ladder: 5 in 46.48 s (2nd-Place)
  • Sandbag Steeplechase: 6 in 53.69 s (1st-Place)
  • Viking Press: 14 reps (Tied-1st)
  • Car Walk: 2.7 meters (5th-Place)

Finals

  • KNAACK Giants Medley: 41.26 seconds (3rd-Place)
  • Max Axle Press: 210 kg (Tied-2nd)
  • Keg Toss: 7.76 meters (Tied-1st)
  • Reign Total Body Fuel’s Conan’s Wheel: 777 ° (3rd-Place)
  • BFGoodrich Tires HD Terrain Deadlift: 7 reps (Tied-Second)
  • Atlas Stones: 5 in 38.14 s (1st-Place)

Tom Stoltman had an incredible performance in the qualifying stage of the 2024 World’s Strongest Man competition, managing to win two events and place second in an additional two events. So, having accumulated those results in the first four events, Tom deliberately placed low on the Car Walk, since he secured his spot in the finals and did not want to unnecessarily burn energy.

Moving on to the finals, Tom Stoltman once again had an incredible start to the competition, finishing in third-place in the Giants Medley. This was one event that he is not the best at, so finishing in the top three was a great success for him. Moving on to the Max Axle Press and Keg Toss events, Tom managed to tie for first place in both. So, he wrapped up day one with a three point lead over the others.

Day two of the 2024 World’s Strongest Man Finals featured some events that suited Mitchell Hooper more than Tom Stoltman, judging from their previous performances. However, Tom once again proved that he is much stronger than ever before, finishing one place behind Mitchell on Conan’s Wheel and even managing to beat him on the Deadlift for reps. So, Tom was 4.5 points ahead going into the final event, thus just officially confirming his win on the Atlas Stones.

Tom Stoltman is still just 29-years-old, as he is set to have his birthday on May 30th. However, despite his young age, he already has three World’s Strongest Man titles to his name. Apart from that, Tom has also won three Britain’s Strongest Man titles, as well as the 2023 Giants Live World Tour Finals. He often placed top three in many of his other International appearances, but many more victories are definitely on the way for Tom as he is looking stronger than ever.
