The dust has settled following the historic 2025 Mr. Olympia Weekend. On Oct. 19, IFBB Pro League Vice President Tyler Manion explained how Ramon Queiroz narrowly beat Mike Sommerfeld to become the fourth Classic Physique Olympia.

Heading into the 2025 Olympia, talks centered around Mike Sommerfeld. His physique updates, two-a-day training sessions, and confidence laid the foundation for a major performance. However, he did face setbacks. Sommerfeld was tasked with dropping 14 pounds to make the weight cap days before stepping onstage.

After a drawn-out battle in Vegas, Ramon Queiroz got his hand raised, bringing the best physique of his career. He managed to defeat Sommerfeld by just a single point on the scorecards, imploring Manion to take a closer look at the outcome.

Tyler Manion Recaps the 2025 Classic Physique Olympia Results: Mike Sommerfeld vs. Ramon Queiroz

Front Double Bicep: Mike Sommerfeld

In the video, Manion explained that Queiroz struggled to raise his biceps in the front double biceps pose, leading to a weaker shot.

“For Ramon, at prejudging he was not raising his arms high enough up so he wasn’t really displaying the full taper but as you see with Ramon, he has very solid arms, even with the crazy forearms as well.”

He labeled this Sommerfeld’s strongest pose to make the score one to zero.

“Mike looks very good in this pose, good arm development into a crazy taper, going down into a nice small waist. For Mike, his quads look very good from the front. This is Mike’s strongest pose, especially comparing next to the other two guys.”

Side Chest: Ramon Queiroz

In the side chest, Manion noted that Sommerfeld had a slight film of water over his skin, blurring his lines and separation.

“Mike had what I’d describe as a very, very slight film of water and blurriness in his upper body.”

The flow and top-to-bottom symmetry gave Queiroz the edge ultimately.

“You can see both of them have very good density and thickness and good balance between the quads and hamstrings, but when you look at this as a whole, and the balance between the upper and the lower body and the way the pose flows together and the roundness and fullness, for me, this pose went to Ramon.”

Back Double Bicep: Ramon Queiroz

Manion awarded Queiroz the back double biceps, crediting his back improvements and leg width from the rear.

“Mike’s weakest part of this pose is his leg width from the back,” he shared. “For Ramon, this is the best his back has looked. Good arms and shoulders that flow in well to the back. You see depth and detail to his back. Back is definitely popping. Ramon’s leg width and detail and development really shine through here.”

Abdominals and Thigh: Mike Sommerfeld

While this pose was extremely close, he thought Sommerfeld edged Queiroz out with his taper and ab development.

“I think this was a very close pose between the two of them. They both did the pose where the crunch down on their abs, then they both pulled a vacuum.

At prejudging, Mike looked a little bit better in this pose than Ramon. Again, they both display nice taper. Their chests are both staying full. Abdominal development and detail, they both have it very good there,” he said.  “For me, by the slightest of margins, I give this pose to Mike to make it two poses to two.”

Favorite Classic Pose: Ramon Queiroz

In the favorite Classic pose, Manion said Sommerfeld’s one-arm up variation was the stronger of the two options he showcased.

“He [Ramon Queiroz] has that round, full, bubbly muscle. He’s displaying the width on both sides, the front lat spread side and when he’s raising his arm up for the front double biceps side.”

“Mike did two variations on the favorite Classic pose. His one variation is a front double variation where the one arm is raised and the other favorite Classic pose he hit was the front lat spread. For Mike, I think the one arm up variation was the better one of the poses for him.”

However, he argued Queiroz’s conditioning, fullness, and size were the difference-makers here.

“I gave the edge to Ramon. The conditioning, the fullness, the detail, the balance that he brought to this pose was very dominating. Size-wise too, it just made him look a little bit bigger.”

Final Score — Queiroz Defeats Sommerfeld 3 Poses to 2

Manion also broke down the close Open Mr. Olympia results, which saw Derek Lunsford emerge victorious. In a total of eight mandatory poses, he argued that Lunsford bested Choopan in five of them, paving the way for him to make history as a two-time champion.

With Chris Bumstead retired, it’s the beginning of a new era in Classic Physique. Fans are excited to see if Queiroz will compete outside of the Mr. Olympia in the near future. Forging ahead, Queiroz has made it clear he wants to maintain the title for five years before moving up to the Men’s Open.
