Young Swedish powerlifter Vilma Olsson is a real force especially when it comes to the squat. She’s a Sub-junior and junior world record holder in the squat (190.5kg/420lbs). In 2018, she took 1st place at the EPF Classic Championships with a 501kg/1105lbs total in the 72kg/159lb Jr category.

Then in 2019, she also placed 1st at the EPF Classic Championships with a 490.5kg/1081lb total at 72kg Jr as well. This was also her most recent competition.

So in a recent session, she absolutely smoked a 205kg/452lb squat which is actually 1.5kg/3.3 lbs over the IPF Open world record held by Angelina Elovikova. That would make this an unofficial world record.

You can see the lift here…

The Instagram post read (translated)…

My heaviest bend from the # distance championship of 205 kg Fun with 5 kg PB and 1.5 kg above the current Open world record.”

That was definitely impressive and she didn’t seem to have an issue getting through the lift smoothly. So we might expect her to go above and beyond this 205kg squat when competition resumes once again. For now, though, everyone is just preparing for when the times comes and Olsson is making amazing progress.
