CrossFit will be back in action with the 2020 Rogue Invitational, in just a couple of weeks. This is a complete guide to watching the action live.

The Rogue Invitational goes down from Saturday, June 13th, through Sunday, June 14th. This will be the first Sanctional event to take place since the global health crisis put a halt to the majority of sporting events around the world. Now, similar to some events before the shutdown, this event will take place entirely online.

What this means, is that athletes will be able to participate in this event from wherever they see fit. Each athlete’s feed will be coordinated into one single stream by Rogue. There is a total of 37 athletes who will be participating in the event, made up of 19 males and 18 females. Moreover some pretty big names will be participating, including:

  • Mat Fraser
  • Tia-Clair Toomey
  • Patrick Vellner
  • Katrin Davidsdottir
  • Noah Ohlsen
  • Kari Pearce
  • Jacob Heppner
  • Sara Sigmundsdottir
  • Chandler Smith
  • Kara Saunders
  • and more!

So how can you watch the Rogue Invitational?

As previously mentioned, this Sanctional will be exclusively streamed online. You can watch all the action live on the Rogue Fitness website, or the Rogue Fitness YouTube channel. Both days will be streamed from 10am – 5pm EST (7am – 2pm PST).

These athletes are obviously looking to score invitations to the 2020 CrossFit Games, with their participation at the Rogue Invitational. However that is not all that these competitors are after. There will also be cash prizes for the 1st-10th place with an additional $5,000 for the winners of each event. This is how the the prize structure breaks down:

  1. $50,000
  2. $40,000
  3. $30,000
  4. $20,000
  5. $15,000
  6. $10,000
  7. $5,000
  8. $3,000
  9. $2,000
  10. $1,000

With the way the world is right now, it is difficult to hold competitions in the same way we normally would. The Rogue Invitational will give CrossFit athletes and staff the chance to work out some kinks, before the bigger CrossFit Games later this year. Nevertheless, this seems to be the reality for now.
