2002 University World Cup
The 2002 University World Cup began on 28 June 2002, with 119 lifters in 15 classes. Gold went to Wu Meijin (56 kg, 282.5 kg), Shi Zhiyong (62 kg, 325 kg), Zhang Guozheng (69 kg, 345 kg), Han Huaping (77 kg, 345 kg), Wang Hailong (85 kg, 365 kg), Bakhyt Akhmetov (94 kg, 385 kg), Genadiy Krasilnikov (105 kg, 357.5 kg) and Dong Feng (+105 kg, 390 kg) for the men, and Li Zhuo (48 kg, 200 kg), Meng Xianjuan (53 kg, 212.5 kg), Sun Caiyan (58 kg, 237.5 kg), Saipin Detsaeng (63 kg, 212.5 kg), Liu Haixia (69 kg, 242.5 kg), Zhang Ning (75 kg, 240 kg) and Ding Meiyuan (+75 kg, 285 kg) for the women.
