2023 African Youth Weightlifting Championships
The 2023 African Youth Weightlifting Championships began on 26 October 2023, with 33 lifters in 19 classes. This competition was decided within the 2023 African Junior Championships. The lifts counted for both, with places ranked within each field. Gold went to Shetawy Abdelmoamnen (49 kg, 170 kg), Tewarry Mohamed Islam (55 kg, 186 kg), Kamal Shalabi (61 kg, 209 kg), Okcini Khaled Souhail (67 kg, 210 kg), Djabri Ayoub (73 kg, 239 kg), Abderrahmane Belhout (81 kg, 243 kg), Laifa Ridha (89 kg, 238 kg), Kazidi Abdul (96 kg, 269 kg), Ben Tamer Sayed (102 kg, 261 kg) and Daniel Tumukunde (+102 kg, 220 kg) for the men, and Basma Ramadan Abdelwahab Gunaidy (45 kg, 134 kg), Habiba Saad Madih Abdelfattah (49 kg, 155 kg), Israa Bejaoui (55 kg, 159 kg), Madeleine Jacquette Ndolo Ndolo (59 kg, 146 kg), Hanin Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Elsayed (64 kg, 189 kg), Menna Hamed Mohamed Elsayed Elfeky (71 kg, 160 kg), Rinad Mohamed Hassan Maghrabi Hassan (76 kg, 195 kg), Amira Mohamed Abdelrahman Ibrahim Elkady (81 kg, 212 kg) and Amina Yahia Mamoun (+81 kg, 183 kg) for the women.
