2023 African Junior Weightlifting Championships
The 2023 African Junior Weightlifting Championships began on 26 October 2023, with 61 lifters in 19 classes. The 2023 African Youth Championships were decided within this competition. The lifts counted for both, with places ranked within each field. Gold went to Tewarry Mohamed Islam (55 kg, 186 kg), Ali Elsayed (61 kg, 261 kg), Akram Chekhchoukh (67 kg, 276 kg), Mohamed Meknaci (73 kg, 290 kg), Mohamed Abdelmoneim Sayed F Mohamed (81 kg, 320 kg), Mazen Sherif Abdelkader A S Ahmed (89 kg, 325 kg), Said Helal Abdelfattah Sayed Helal (96 kg, 335 kg), Hisham Albaour (102 kg, 230 kg), Mustafa Ben Sasi (109 kg, 220 kg) and Nasruldeen Almalki (+109 kg, 246 kg) for the men, and Habiba Saad Madih Abdelfattah (49 kg, 155 kg), Noura Essam Helmi Abdelbari Mohamed (55 kg, 173 kg), Madeleine Jacquette Ndolo Ndolo (59 kg, 146 kg), Hanin Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Elsayed (64 kg, 189 kg), Doaa Bo Abdalla (71 kg, 157 kg), Rinad Mohamed Hassan Maghrabi Hassan (76 kg, 195 kg), Amira Mohamed Abdelrahman Ibrahim Elkady (81 kg, 212 kg), Fatma Mohamed Sadek Ahmed (87 kg, 215 kg) and Shimaa Khaled Ragab Ali (+87 kg, 245 kg) for the women.
