Bodybuilder Wesley Vissers wants to keep his momentum alive in 2026. On March 13, he discussed his mentality heading into the Arnold Classic UK and how he plans to beat Ramon Queiroz when they meet again onstage.

Wesley Vissers was out for redemption at the 2026 Arnold Classic. He fell to fifth place and lost his title the year prior, so pressure was high for a standout performance. He ultimately delivered, proving that he could improve the fullness in his quads and hamstrings, which has been a recurring criticism.

From there, Vissers’ return tour led him back to the Detroit Pro. Unlike his silver medal finish in 2025, Vissers managed to claim the crown and the ‘King of Detroit’ title. With the Arnold Classic UK taking over Birmingham, United Kingdom, in just a few days, Vissers broke down how he’s feeling about the season.

In the video, Vissers reported a clean bill of health following back-to-back contest wins. He added that he’s in the perfect place to continue making progress.

“I feel great. I feel very healthy. Everything is going well. No injuries, no joint pain, nothing. I’m in the perfect spot to keep making progress.

The only thing I need to know is looking at the previous competitions, look at my physique objectively and the others and see what is the difference and see why we didn’t get the placings that we wanted.”

As for his plan moving ahead, Vissers noted that enhancing his proportions will be key:

“We can still make the proportions even better. We can still be a bit more sharp, which is what we’re going to try for the next couple of shows, especially the sharpness, and the mass in the right places. That’s going to be between now and the Olympia, which we’ve proved that if we take a little time off, we can definitely make those improvements,” he said

Having defeated Queiroz back at the 2024 Arnold Classic, Vissers believes he’s in a strong position to do it again in Vegas this September.

“The thing is that’s different now, is I already beat the winner of the Mr. Olympia before. That has never happened before in my career because the winner was Chris Bumstead. So, I could never say, oh I know what it’s like to beat him.”

Overall, Vissers argued he’s made more progress than Queiroz, but emphasized that the judges will make that determination when they battle.

“I know which points I had over him and the moment I beat Ramon, was a very different Wesley from now. Of course, Ramon made improvements as well, but I dare say, that the difference between the Ramon I beat and how he looks now is smaller than the difference between me who beat him and me now. That already tells you a little bit of what I think could happen. At the end of the day, I still have to bring it. Ramon has to bring it,” shared Wesley Vissers.

Vissers will finally face off against Olympia runner-up Mike Sommerfeld at the Arnold UK. ‘Mike the Badass’ missed the Classic Physique weight cap for the Arnold Classic and was forced to withdraw. The winner in the UK will cement themselves as the number one contender for Queiroz’s title.

Free of pain and injuries, Vissers is on track for another major showing. Don’t miss our full coverage of the 2026 Arnold Classic UK from March 27-29 in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
