bcaas are great for anticatabolic affect. regarding whey being better, sure, but you can take bcaas in your preworkout, I doubt people take whey in their preworkout. glutamine is good for the gut health, so (from this point of view) is far from useless.

If glutamine helps with gut health which helps with better digestion and absorption of macros doesn’t that in turn help with muscle growth it might not help muscle growth directly but the things it does help with enhance your ability to grow muscle? With that being said I believe glutamine is a great supplement
