2021 CrossFit Games Quarterfinals Individual Tests Revealed

The events for the 2021 CrossFit Games Quarterfinals Tests have been revealed as athletes continue the qualification process

The 2021 CrossFit Games Quarterfinals are officially underway, as athletes continue to try qualifying for this years games. This is a breakdown of the five tests athletes must complete to move on to the next stage.

This year’s Games seasons has been quite different from previous years. With an all virtual, and significantly more unique format, athletes try to earn their spot in the Finals based on their continental region.

The first step of this was the Open, which saw athletes complete three weeks of workouts, with the hopes of moving on to the Quarterfinals. The top 10% of every region’s individuals., and the top 25% of teams qualified for this next stage of the season.

Now the 2021 CrossFit Games Quarterfinals is underway, taking place from April 8th-11th. The top 120 athletes from North America, 60 athletes from Europe, and 30 each from Oceania, South America, Asia, and Africa will move on to the Semifinals.

There are five different tests that athletes must do in order to complete this next stage of the qualification process. These tests were revealed with a post to the CrossFit Games Instagram page.

Here Is A Breakdown Of The 2021 CrossFit Games Quarterfinals

Workout One (scored for time, 10-min time cap)

3 Rounds

  • 10 strict handstand push-ups
  • 10 dumbbell hang power cleans
  • 50 double-unders

1-min Mandatory Rest, Followed By 3 Rounds

  • 10 kipping handstand push-ups
  • 10 dumbbell shoulder-to-overheads
  • 50 double-unders

Weight: 35lb for women, 50lb for men

Workout Two (scored for time, 20-minute time cap)

  • 60 GHD sit-ups
  • 6 15-ft rope climbs
  • 60 alternating single-leg squats
  • 50 GHD sit-ups
  • 5 15-ft rope climbs
  • 50 alternating single-leg squats
  • 40 GHD sit-ups
  • 4 15-ft rope climbs
  • 40 alternating single-leg squats
  • 30 GHD sit-ups
  • 3 15-ft rope climbs
  • 30 alternating single-leg squats

Workout Three (scored for time, 15-min time cap)

  • 120 wall-ball shots
  • 120-cal. row

Weight: 14lb ball to 9ft target for women, 20lb ball to 10ft target for men

Workout Four (scored for max load, 20-min time cap)

  • 4 rep max front squat

Workout Five (scored for time, 7-minute time cap)

  • 9 snatches
  • 9 burpee box jump-overs
  • 6 snatches
  • 6 burpee box jump-overs
  • 3 snatches
  • 3 burpee box jump-overs

Weight: 135lb with 30in box for women, 185lb with 30in box for men

This is the tests for individuals completing the 2021 CrossFit Games Quarterfinals. As for team competitors, their version of the event goes down April 22nd-25th, where the top 25 teams from the Open will compete.

As it stands, the CrossFit Games Semifinals is set to take place from May 24th-June 14th. The top male and female for each region will move on to the Games, ensuring that there is someone from each continent competing there from July 27th-August 1st.
