Top 3 Men’s Open Bodybuilders To Watch
With so many athletes competing at the 2021 IFBB Tampa Pro, it would be impossible to list all of the ones worth paying attention to. However the Men’s Open side of things have some key figures that are going to be fighting hard to earn their spot at the Olympia, with a win this weekend.
Iain Valliere
Competing for the first time in 2021, Iain Valliere is fresh off of a 7th place score in his second ever Olympia appearance. Here the Canadian was able to beat the likes of Hunter Labrada and the legendary Dexter Jackson, proving himself to be a legitimate prospect and someone with the potential to be a future contender for the Olympia title.
Iain has been working hard during the off-season, adding some lean muscle mass to his physique and trying to figure out the best way to nail his conditioning. It will be interesting to see how that all comes together on stage, but if he is able to look as improved as he promised, he will be a hard man to beat.
Maxx Charles
It has been a busy last few weeks for Maxx Charles, who has been competing a lot recently. Even if he does not get a win at the Tampa Pro, he will be in a great position to qualify for the Olympia, based on points alone. He came in 13th place at the 2020 Olympia.
Make no mistake though, he is still a legitimate threat to win this contest, especially after coming in third place at the Chicago Pro a few weeks earlier. The main key for him, is to see if he is able to maintain the conditioning that helped him score so high, and if he can make the necessary adjustments between these two shows.
Charles Griffen
It has been quite some time since Charles Griffen was last on stage, having not competed since the Tampa Pro in 2019. So fans are not sure what to expect in his return, but considering he was a highly touted prospect when he last competed, the hope is that he has been spending this time making serious gains.
Looking through his social media, it is evident that he has been working hard during this prep, and looks to bring crazy conditioning to the stage. Time will tell if that is enough in the end, but either way it will be good to have “The Definition” back on stage again.
