The 2023 Arnold Classic has arrived in Columbus, Ohio and competitors from seven divisions are battling for one of the sport’s most sought after titles. A number of Classic Physique bodybuilders met for prejudging, including frontrunners, Ramon Rocha Quieroz and Urs Kalecinski.

As arguably the most popular division in the IFBB Pro League, fans are looking forward to the Classic Physique action this weekend. There were some notable changes to the lineup compared to last year. Reigning two-time Arnold Classic champion Terrence Ruffin has opted not to compete and will instead make improvements to his physique after finishing sixth at the 2022 Mr. Olympia competition. Therefore, this weekend will see a new Arnold Classic winner emerge.

Germany’s Urs Kalecinski has ambitious plans at his second-ever Arnold Classic contest. Last year, Kalecinski proved himself against a tough lineup in Ohio, but he was unable to defeat runner-up Quieroz or Ruffin. He recently placed behind Quieroz in third place at Olympia as well. When laying out his plan of attack for this weekend, Kaelcinski made it clear his ‘mission’ is to defeat Quieroz

In addition to Brazil’s Quieroz, who finished second at last year’s Arnold Classic, fans are expecting a fierce fight between standouts, Mike Sommerfield and former AC champion (2020), Alex Cambronero. By the time prejudging wrapped up, most were in agreement that Brazil’s Ramon Rocha Quieroz brought a jaw-dropping package. His hardness and conditioning from the back improved dramatically since his last showing at Olympia.

There were only two Classic Physique call outs, but they featured plenty of action. Most fans predict it will be another four-man battle between Urs Kalecisnki, Mike Sommerfield, Ramon Rocha Quieroz, and Alex Cambronero later tonight in the finals. Meanwhile, the second call out featured impressive looks from Junior Javorski, Jason Brown, and Courage Opara.
