The 2024 Giants Live USA Strongman Championships & World Deadlift Championships will take place on September 28th at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. It is one of the most exciting shows of the year, since it features two competitions in one. Well, since the show is approaching, the organizers decided to reveal the lineups for both competitions.
The concept of World Deadlift Championships being held at the same time as another competition is nothing new, as that has been the case for multiple years now. So, the way it works is that the first event of the USA Strongman Championships is the Deadlift for Max Weight. In turn, all athletes take turns establishing their one rep max.
However, some of the athletes are only participating in that event and not the ones that follow. So, they are competing in only the World Deadlift Championships and have the goal of setting a new World Record of 505 kilograms (1,113.3 pounds). On the other hand, those athletes are not taken into account for the point scoring system for the USA Strongman Championships, as they do not plan on competing in the remaining events.

Lineup Overview
USA Strongman Championships
When it comes to the full competition that will consist of multiple events, the main favorites without a doubt are Tom Stoltman, Mitchell Hooper, and Evan Singleton.
Tom Stoltman is now a 3x World’s Strongest Man champion, which automatically places him into contention for any other title as well. Moreover, Tom has been vocal about his desire to win other elite competitions apart from the WSM, and this might be the perfect opportunity for him.
On the other hand, Mitchell Hooper is known for his consistency at high level competitions, as he has already claimed eight International wins, including the 2023 WSM, 2x Arnold Strongman Classic, and the 2023 Rogue Invitational. He recently lost his title at the WSM, which might fuel his fire and motivate him to display even greater performances in the remainder of the season.
Evan Singleton has proved to be one of the only men on earth who can challenge Tom Stoltman and Mitchell Hooper. Depending on the events, Evan Singleton could very well beat the duo and take the USA Strongman Championships title.
World Deadlift Championships
The World Deadlift Championships are a completely different story from the USA Strongman Championships. This is mostly due to the fact that the only goal at the Deadlift Championships is to break the World Record. So, some athletes have dedicated months only training for the deadlift and not paying any attention to other Strongman events.
Although the World Deadlift Championships are very unpredictable, one of the main favorites for the World Record is definitely Ivan Makarov. Although there were talks of his retirement last year, Ivan was not ready to drop his dream of breaking the World Record, and is looking to achieve it this year. He was already close on multiple occasions, even managing to get 505 kilograms (1,113.3 pounds) up to his knees.
Another exciting prospect for the Deadlift World Record is Graham Hicks. Known for his outstanding static strength, Graham has completely dedicated himself to the goal of setting a new record. His lifts in training are looking very promising, especially considering how much time he still has left.
There are multiple other athletes who could break the World Record, with the most notable picks being Rauno Heinla, Mathew Ragg, and Austin Andrade.
It is also important to mention Lucy Underdown, an elite Strongwoman who also made an appearance in last year’s edition of the World Deadlift Championships. There, she managed to set a 318-kilogram (701-pound) Women’s All-Time World Record. It has remained untouched since then, but Lucy is coming back again this year with the goal of further improving it.
