Lineup Overview
All eyes will be pointed towards the defending and two-time champion, Luke Stoltman. The Europe’s Strongest Man is clearly one of his favorite competitions, which is why he has a great desire to hold on to the title for another year.
The 2025 Europe’s Strongest Man will also see the return of two other former champions — Pavlo Kordiyaka (2023) and Luke Richardson (2020). Having felt the taste of victory before, both men are hungry to reclaim the coveted title. They are also incredible when it comes to a certain style of events, and this just might be their year to display their best shape.
Aivars Smaukstelis is another athlete worth paying attention to, since the title slipped out of his hands at the 2024 Europe’s Strongest Man based on just a one-point margin. So, the Latvian representative will certainly look to improve on his silver medal and the only way of doing so is by winning the competition.
Mateusz Kieliszkowski has been battling injuries for a couple of years, which unfortunately hindered his abilities in Strongman. However, ever since he came back to compete at the highest level, Mateusz has been looking incredible. He has been making sure to stay completely healthy for the 2025 Europe’s Strongest Man, even withdrawing from the Arnold Strongman Classic to avoid any injuries. So, Mateusz is easily one of the favorites for the title.

2025 Europe’s Strongest Man Events
- Press Medley
- Shield Walk
- Anchor Carry & Drag
- Axle Deadlift
- Castle Stones
Press Medley
In the Press Medley event at the 2025 Europe’s Strongest Man, the athletes will have to press four implements for two repetitions each. The weight and shape of the implements will vary, as the event will consist of a Dumbbell, Yoke Press, Log Lift, and Axle Press. So, not only do the athletes have to have incredible upper body strength, but they also need to master the technique for lifting each implement.
Shield Walk
The Shield Walk is one of the most pain-inducing events in Strongman, and it will be a part of 2025 Europe’s Strongest Man. The athletes will be tasked with picking up and carrying a 200-kilogram (440.9-pound) shield implement for the longest distance possible within the given time limit. The technique used in the shield carry makes it harder to breathe, especially considering that this event has the endurance factor involved.
Anchor Carry & Drag
In the Carry & Drag event, the athletes will have to carry a heavy implement across the field. Then, they will have to grab a hold of a chain with an anchor attached to the end of it and drag it back across the field. The weight of the implements has not been revealed, but the length of the field will presumably be 20 meters, based on the prior editions of the competition.
Axle Deadlift
The 2025 Europe’s Strongest Man will also feature a deadlift. Specifically, the athletes will be performing the Axle barbell variation for as many reps as possible. The Axle bar is different in its own way, as it is thicker than usual while also being very stiff. There are no standout deadlifters apart from Rauno Heinla, which could make for some unpredictable results.
Castle Stones
For the final event of the 2025 Europe’s Strongest Man competition, the athletes will take on the Castle Stones. In this event, the goal will be to pick up and load a series of progressively heavier stones onto their respective platforms. The event will be timed, meaning that the aim is to finish it in the shortest time possible.
