John Haack continues to show why he is such a dominant figure in the sport of powerlifting. Following his impressive lifts in training, the time came for Haack to compete. He participated in The Hybrid Showdown 4, held on January 15-16, 2022 At HYBRID Performance Method Gym, Miami, FL. Haack managed to break two All-Time World Records in the 100 kg category, but still wasn’t satisfied with his total performance.

The first World Record came in the bench press event, where Haack pressed 267.5 kg (589.7 lbs). Furthermore, the second world record was his total, which came out to be 990 kg (2182.6 lbs).

Courtesy of YouTube channel ALpowerliftingTV, you can watch all three lifts here:

It is worth noting that Haack demolished the previous Total World Record of 972.5 kg (2144 lbs), which was held by Yury Belkin. That means Haack broke the record by 17.5 kg (38.6 lbs)

Many people wondered why Haack was competing in the 100 kg category, as his primary category is 90 kg. Haack explained that he will continue competing in the 90 kg category, but that he wasn’t able to lose the weight before this competition.

“Got down to 205 lbs (93 kg) yesterday around 5pm and just didn’t have the desire to keep going. I’m not done as a 90 kg lifter.” wrote Haack.

The most impressive thing about John Haack is that he is capable of putting on a lot more muscle, and still be able to compete in the 100 kg category. Keeping that in mind, at 93 kg bodyweight, he is absolutely destroying World records, and it seems like he won’t stop any time soon.
