Craig Foster just got significantly closer to accomplishing his lifetime goal of breaking the raw squat World Record. He did so by squatting 465 kilograms (1,025.1 pounds) at the 2022 WRPF Croqueta Classic, which took place on October 9th in Miami, FL. Currently, little information is available about his performance, aside from the fact that Craig competed in the raw division and that his massive squat got white lights from the judges.

Craig Foster’s 465-kilogram (1.025.1-pound) lift is now the third-heaviest raw squat in the history of powerlifting. Only Ray Williams (490-kg / 1,080.2-lb) and Jezza Uepa (470-kg / 1,036.1-lb) have squatted more weight in a competition. Although Ray Williams is the undisputed squat king in powerlifting, there have been a few notable lifters who managed to get close to him. Only two are currently active, which are Jesus Olivares and Craig Foster. Although Olivares’ recent progress looked incredible, Craig is still ahead of him, and is thus the biggest candidate for the raw squat All-Time World Record.

“Matched my wrap squat from February something I wanted to do going back in sleeves. Not the best day but the most fun head in meet in a long time.”

Craig Foster’s Full Performance

  • Squat: 465 kilograms (1,025.1 pounds)
  • Bench Press: 255 kilograms (562.1 pounds)
  • Deadlift: 295 kilograms (650.3 pounds)
  • Total: 1,015 kilograms (2,237.7 pounds)

As Craig Foster stated, his new raw squat PR is equal to his heaviest lift done with knee wraps. This is an incredible achievement, which testifies to all the hard work he puts in to get closer to the World Record. Craig’s bodyweight at the time of his recent appearance was 166 kilograms (365.9 pounds).

The 2022 WRPF Croqueta Classic was Craig Foster’s 10th-sanctioned powerlifting competition. He also accumulated a few wins, most notably the 2018 USPA Florida State Championships. Despite his massive success already, Craig still has many more years to improve, as he is just now reaching his strength peak.

Craig Foster will now be looking to continue improving his squat abilities and pass Jezza Uepa as the second-greatest squat powerlifter in history. His desire to succeed will be even greater as his rivalry with Jesus Olivares heats up. There is no way Craig is going to give up his lead so easily.
