Influencer Will Tennyson has gained popularity on social media for his fun renditions of popular athlete’s diets, workouts, and anything to do with fitness. In his recent video, Tennyson took on Ronnie Coleman’s massive bulking diet that consists of eating over 6,000 calories and 600 grams of protein.
Ronnie Coleman is a legend in bodybuilding for a reason. His ability to put on muscle mass while maintaining symmetry and definition is what contributed to him earning and maintaining the Mr. Olympia title for eight straight years. Not to mention his insane diet and workout regimen that kept him looking freakishly ripped even into his retirement.
Just recently, Coleman pushed the limits during a training session with Hany Rambod. Rambod is an esteemed coach who is currently working with reigning Olympia champion Hadi Choopan and Derek Lunsford along with many others. Ronnie Coleman has called Lunsford his favorite bodybuilder of this generation.
After smashing his workout with Rambod, Coleman revealed that he is still working out six days a week. Talk about dedication! Diet and exercise were, and still are, a huge part of Ronnie Coleman’s daily routine. His life’s work has proven to be inspirational to fans and athletes alike.

Influencer Will Tennyson Struggles To Maintain Ronnie Coleman’s Mega Bulking Diet
In his latest endeavor, influencer Will Tennyson decided to try to keep up with bodybuilding legend Ronnie Coleman by following his massive bulking diet for a day that includes 6,000 calories and over 600 grams of protein. Here’s what it looked like.
Will Tennyson prefaced the day by saying;
“It’s no surprise Ronnie Coleman’s Nickname is ‘the King’ because he eats the equivalent to a royal feast every freakin day.”
Starting with meal one, Tennyson made an insane amount of egg whites that he topped with an ungodly amount of powdered cheese and then added it to a bowl of grits that had two slices of Craft American cheese mixed in. Sounds yummy!
Meal 1 – 70.3 Grams Protein
- 2 Cups Egg Whites (with cheese powder)
- 1 Cup Grits (with two slices of cheese)
- Coffee
After preparing the meal, Will Tennyson jokes about the sheer size.
“This is probably as heavy as some people’s deadlift attempts” Will Tennyson said.
Meal 2 – 172 Grams Protein
- 20oz Chicken Breast (with BBQ sauce)
- Cornbread
- 1 ½ Cups Beans
- 1 ½ Cups Brown Rice
Just barely into meal two and Will Tennyson was already struggling to finish and digest the amount of calories and protein he had taken in.
“Only halfway into meal number two and my digestive system is already at war as I’ve already surpassed my daily protein intake on a normal day and the fact that we have to go train after this is starting to get seriously concerning.”
Following meal two, Tennyson crushed a chest day at the gym.
Meal 3 – 143 Grams Protein
- 16oz Chicken Breast
- Medium Baked Potato
Meal three wasn’t any easier for Tennyson, though it seems his sense of humor helped him make it through.
“I am suffering. The amount of Chicken this guy goes through, I feel like if he was still competing Chick-fil-A would be forced to stay open on Sundays.”
Meal 4 – 109 Grams Protein
- Filet Mignon
- 5oz Chicken Breast
- Large McDonald’s French Fry
- Baked Potato
- Pink Lemonade
Washing his meal number four down with a nice pink lemonade, Tennyson wasn’t looking forward to still having 100 grams of protein to finish off the day.
“You would think that we were done with protein for the day but we are not.”
Meal 5 – 100 Grams Protein
- 4 Scoops Whey Protein Powder
Will ends the video commending Ronnie Coleman on his hard work and devotion while he was still competing in bodybuilding.
“That was a day in the life of Ronnie Coleman. Bulking, training to win eight Mr. Olympia’s. The guy is a legend for a reason. Doing this every single day without complaining. Putting in the work even when he had a full-time job. He only quit during his sixth Olympia because he pretty much had to he was so busy. Hats off to the guy, he’s just a champion.”
The dedication to scarfing down enough calories and protein is something all bodybuilders have to tolerate. While bulking up and eating insane amounts of calories can be brutal, so can cutting out carbs and eating minimally while getting slim as shared recently by Regan Grimes. With under three weeks till the 2023 Mr. Olympia, Grimes has had to massively change the way he eats in order to keep his weight down before taking the stage.
While it seems like such a grueling process, most bodybuilders enjoy the grind while taking pride in what they do. Their hard work will be worth it after they perform at this year’s Mr. Olympia set to take place November 2-5 in Orlando, Florida.
