Jeremy Buendia is a man on a mission after making his return to bodybuilding. During the off-season, Buendia is focused on enjoying the holidays with his family before jumping into another busy year. In a recent YouTube video, Jeremy Buendia shares a full day of ‘normal’ eating where he tries to maintain his weight while still giving in to some of his guilty pleasures.

“Woke up this morning at 198.5. I really haven’t been on a set diet the past five weeks. I really haven’t been doing terrible. It’s up until my workout, my post-workout are good then usually towards the evening we eat whatever we want, order whatever we want.”

Jeremy Buendia made his return to Men’s Physique during the 2023 Mr. Olympia where he came in eighth place. Having not competed since his loss to Brandon Hendrickson in 2018, fans were excited to see the former four-time Men’s Physique champion on stage again.

Following his performance at Mr. Olympia, Buendia shared that he wasn’t thrilled about his placing but was grateful he came through on the successful comeback, especially since he wasn’t as hard as some of his fellow adversaries. Buendia also discussed his goals for this coming year, stating that he would be coming back better than ever to win the coveted title in 2024

While still undecided, Jeremy Buendia announced that he intends to compete at shows before the 2024 Mr. Olympia. Buendia stated that he wants to earn his spot on stage despite boasting a lifetime invite. The shows will also help hone his form and give him the proper preparation necessary before competing at the biggest show in bodybuilding.

Jeremy Buendia Shares A Full Day of Eating Amid the Holiday Season

During the off-season, Jeremy Buendia is working on maintaining his weight and physique while still indulging in holiday food. Unfortunately, Buendia has been experiencing some side effects due to not eating properly. However, he remains focused on enjoying his family and not putting unnecessary pressure on himself.

“Last week I felt super bloated and watery and I felt fat last week. I woke up this morning feeling a little btter because I haven’t been eating as crappy at nighttime. Trying to enjoy the holidays.”

“At least up until the first of the year. I am going to relax, still getting my workouts in. Eating probably decent throughout the day, then at nighttime enjoying food with my family and friends.”

“Once prep starts, it’s going to be locked in all the way until Olympia in October” Buendia said

Below are the five meals Buendia ate throughout his ‘normal’ off-season day of eating.

Meal 1

Jeremy Buendia started by revealing his breakfast.

  • 2 eggs
  • 240g egg whites
  • 90g oats
  • 100g strawberries
  • 20g almond butter

Meal 2

For meal two, Jeremy consumed shrimp and rice.

  • 160g shrimp
  • 250g rice

Jeremy explains his pre-workout meal as well as discloses how he gets enough carbs in to ensure maximum gains.

“I like this meal before I train because it doesn’t bother my stomach. It’s not a lot of carbs right now but I do intra-workout carbs as well and then I’ll bring some rice krispies with me if I feel like I’m not getting a good enough pump in.

I don’t have to worry about being flat because I eat so much food at night and carbs at night.”

Intra-Workout Shake

  • 50g carbs

Meal 3

Meal three saw Buendia enjoy his protein shake.

  • 2 scoops protein
  • 2 rice krispies
  • 1 cookie

Meal 4

He opts for another pre-prepared meal for his fourth.

Meal 5

Buendia finishes off the night with takeout.

  • Free Meal (takeout)

Wrapping up his day going out to dinner with his family, Buendia kept it simple and relaxed. Before wrapping up, he shared his goals for the next few weeks before he starts preparing for competing.

“My goal is maintain my weight, not get too fat. Keep a decent body composition the next few months. You know, being completely off right now I’m trying to get myself healthy after you know a long prep all year long.

That’s my priority. The food up to this point has been pretty lenient. It’s what’s comfortable, there’s no stress” Buendia said.

While his diet seems nonchalant now, in the next few months it’s expected that Jeremy Buendia will switch back to his crazy massive 5,941 calorie days of eating like he did before his epic and memorable Mr. Olympia Men’s Physique comeback.

Following his latest day of eating, fans look forward to seeing Jeremy Buendia make another play for the Men’s Physique division’s most prestigious title. The 2023 Olympia will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada from October 10-13.
