Having competed as a bodybuilder and served as a coach, Greg Doucette has a trained eye for detecting whether someone has used performance-enhancing drugs. In a recent YouTube video, Greg Doucette looked at steroid use in Hollywood and explained why he believes Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is taking ‘a lot’ to achieve his physique.
As a top-grossing actor and Pro wrestling star, Johnson has remained in the limelight thanks to his charismatic personality and ironclad work ethic. However, given the size, muscle hardness, and detail of his physique, some in the fitness community believe he has used enhancements to carve out such an impressive look. This includes Greg Doucette, who not only called out ‘The Rock’ for his alleged use but underlined the dangerous influence it could have on his massive fanbase.
Greg Doucette Discusses Steroids in Hollywood and The Rock’s ‘Suspect’ Physique
According to Greg Doucette, The Rock is using performance-enhancing drugs to attain his body, adding, “I don’t even think it’s small amounts. I think a lot.”
“I would be a 1,000 to 1 odds that he’s on performance-enhancing drugs and I don’t even think small amounts. I think a lot. That’s my opinion.

I would say he’s on everything. I would say at one point you could argue maybe just HRT, but I would say to get your best physique in your 50s… it’s hard enough in your 30s, 40s, but in your 50s, it’s just too suspect.”
Even though there have been calls for The Rock to come clean, Greg Doucette believes Johnson has convinced himself he is doing right by fans staying silent.
“He’s doing it because he’s convinced himself that it’s the right thing to do because he might feel — like if he were to open up and say I do take testosterone, I do take tren, let’s say he said that. He might think the millions of fans that are following him would then do the same thing versus him saying, you know I’m not going to talk about it. Let’s just not say this, he thinks that’s doing society a favor when in fact I think with knowledge comes power.”
“I think if he tells people, ‘Look, I look amazing but I use these things to get this body and I don’t think you should copy me,’ or perhaps say, ‘I have body dysmorphia, people want me to look this way, there’s a lot of pressure on me to look this way but I don’t want you to go down the same route as me because what if I die in 10 years from a heart attack? I think that would make a bigger difference than him just keeping things silent.”
Doucette contends that The Rock would lose sponsorships and movie roles if he ever revealed his alleged steroid cycle. He also called out Hollywood for their suspected use, mocking their chicken, broccoli, and rice diet.
“Without question, he would lose sponsorships, he would lose perhaps movie roles in Hollywood. I don’t think it’s okay per se to say what you’re taking. Most Hollywood stars they have the chicken, broccoli, and rice diet and they train four times a day. That’s what they do and they all look like superheroes.”
Doucette argues most people outside of fitness believe The Rock is natural.
“I said there was no way I believed this guy was natural [in my previous videos]. And most people think The Rock is natural. If you asked the average person. They are not educated on the sport like me. But when I ask my mom and dad, they don’t think that The Rock was on steroids. They would never have guessed that. They have no idea.”
He adds that even if someone adopts The Rock’s exact cycle, training, and diet, 99 percent of people wouldn’t boast a physique comparable to his.
“The average person thinks perhaps they have your build, they think if you take steroids, you could look like The Rock.
But the truth is, even with 10 years of hard work, the best training, the best diet, it’s 99 percent of the people are not even going to look half as good as The Rock no matter what they take.”
Fitness industry expert Joe Rogan has given his take on whether The Rock has used steroids. In light of Brian Johnson (Liver King) being exposed for his $10,000 monthly cycle, Rogan called on The Rock to ‘come clean’ about his use.
“The Rock should come clean right now. He should make a video in response to the Liver King video like, ‘I need to talk to you because The Rock’s been lying.’ There’s not a f**king chance in hell he’s clean, not a chance in hell as big as The Rock is at 50.”
Another expert on assessing physiques is former eight-time Mr. Olympia winner Ronnie Coleman. He recently discussed why he thought The Rock has used performance-enhancing drugs.
“Yeah. Yeah. He probably took a little bit of something here and there, not a lot you know,” said Coleman. “He’s all kind of cut up a little bit.
The definition is everywhere on his body. I could be wrong but you know… it’s very unlikely [that he’s natural].”
Just like bodybuilding star Sam Sulek, when The Rock refuses to talk about PEDs, fans only begin to ask more questions. As for Greg Doucette, he is convinced ‘1,000-to-1’ that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson achieved his physique with enhancements.
