After seven years as an IFBB Pro bodybuilder, Ivie Rhein is stepping away from the competitive stage. In an Instagram post shared on August 8, 2024, Women’s Physique competitor Ivie Rhein announced she is retiring from bodybuilding following a successful tenure in the sport.

Women’s Physique bodybuilder Ivie Rhein hit the ground running after earning her Pro card in 2017. Wasting no time, she jumped straight into her debut show just one month later, earning a fourth-place finish at the 2017 Orlando Pro.

It wouldn’t be until 2019 that Ivie Rhein would finally step onto the most prestigious stage in bodybuilding. Her first Mr. Olympia competition saw her place 15th, but this would only be the beginning for Rhein. The following year, she would earn the first place slot at the 2020 Tampa Pro Show, qualifying her for the Olympia stage for the second time.

Ivie Rhein didn’t disappoint her second time on the monumental stage as she slid into a fifth-place finish at the 2020 Mr. Olympia, moving up 10 spots since the previous year. Rhein continued honing her physique in the following years and raked in another win at the 2021 Toronto Pro Show.

Women’s Physique Bodybuilder Ivie Rhein Announced Her Retirement

Last year was especially successful for Ivie Rhein, starting with her win at the 2023 Texas Pro Show. Rhein took that momentum into the Masters Olympia, coming out as the victor with first place. She finished her incredible 2023 bodybuilding season with sixth place at the Mr. Olympia.

Despite achieving numerous accomplishments, Ivie Rhein took to Instagram to announce her retirement from the sport.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ “‭

“After much reflection, I made the decision to step away from the stage. No, it was not an easy decision, but it was a decision that brought peace to my heart.”

I achieved much more than I ever imagined, and in such a short period of time. I traveled, met places and people around the world, and was lucky enough to make some friends. I only have incredible memories and I am very proud of my journey” Rhein wrote.

In the post, she also shared her gratitude for the support she received over the years.

“@fabianorhein thank you for introducing me to this world, for teaching me so much, for training me, for supporting me and for believing in me from day one! What a privilege to have someone with so much knowledge so close!
@valentinarhein and @bernardorhein your love, cheering and support have sustained me many times ❤️❤️
@andrew_vu87 thank you for guiding me, for the conversations and for believing in me sensei. Together we did 5 pro shows (we won 3 of them), 4 Mr Olympias (2x top 5) and also the title of first ever WP Masters Olympia champion! It was incredible having you as my coach over the years, but even more incredible to get to know you as a person!”

“I would also like to thank my family, friends, fans, sponsors, coaches, other athletes, everyone who in some way was part of my career, both amateur and professional. The support, the affection, the messages, nothing went unnoticed 🫶”

Rhein looks forward to the future following her exit from the sport.

“Time to turn the page and move on to the next goal!”

While this decision wasn’t planned, Clahar believed he was being pushed out after receiving what he felt was an undeserved placement in the show.

The sport of bodybuilding continues to be a revolving door for incredible talents. While new standouts rise through the ranks, more experienced legends say farewell. Each athlete leaves an invaluable imprint not only on the sport but on those who come after them as well. The team here at Fitness Volt wishes Ivie Rhein well in her future endeavors.
