Chris Bumstead, who easily boasts the most Instagram followers of any bodybuilder not named Arnold Schwarzenegger, is making moves in business. In an announcement on September 9, 2024, Bumstead revealed that he has returned to the Gymshark fitness apparel company as a co-owner.
“I’m back. Part owner, All athlete. @gymshark” Bumstead shares.
Chris Bumstead is currently in prep to defend his crown at the 2024 Mr. Olympia contest. He is the reigning five-time Classic Physique Olympia champion, having held the honor since 2019 after dethroning ex-titleholder Breon Ansley.
Over the years, Bumstead’s fame and popularity have only grown. Fans have come to appreciate his easygoing temperament and unfiltered personality as he’s unafraid to speak on issues affecting his life, such as depression, anxiety, and the pressures of being a high-performing bodybuilder. He’s also become an articulate businessman, who signed with RAW Nutrition in 2021 as a co-owner.

Now, Bumstead has returned to Gymshark as a co-owner. This announcement came at a consequential time in his bodybuilding tenure as ‘Cbum’ continues to flirt with retirement. Previously, Bumstead mentioned that by the time he reaches 30 years old, he’d like to step away from the sport (he’s 29 now). The business decision was also made just one month before he takes on the Classic Physique lineup at the 2024 Mr. Olympia.
Bodybuilder Chris Bumstead Partners With Gymshark Apparel Company As Co-Owner
After building up a massive personal brand on his own, Bumstead has decided to join forces with Gymshark, a fitness apparel and accessories company that has become incredibly popular on social media. He represented Gymshark from 2018-2022, before venturing off to work on other endeavors.
“Thank you everyone for coming today. I’m just going to jump straight into it. I’m thinking about my future and what’s important to me. So… Daddy’s home,’ shared Bumstead.
In a post made to his stories on Instagram, Bumstead elaborated on the recent decision, expressing optimism about what lies ahead.
“At this stage of my career, I’ve been fortunate enough to have been offered some very exciting opportunities, but I knew if I was going to be involved in a business again, it had to be with the right people and for the right reasons.
When Gymshark talked me through their vision to become the brand that brings the gym to the world, I knew that if I was going to partner with anyone, it had to be them.
So, I’m happy to say I’m now a part owner of Gymshark. I’m really excited for the future of the brand and to get to work. Gymshark forever,” Bumstead revealed via Instagram Stories.
With business obligations occupying more of Bumstead’s life, making time for preparations could become even more challenging. However, we know Chris Bumstead never makes excuses and fans expect his best physique yet when he returns to the Olympia stage October 10-13 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
