Open class bodybuilder Antoine Vaillant recently tore his right bicep a few weeks ahead of the Toronto Pro which is unfortunate considering he was so ready to “battle it out”. The competition will take place from May 31 – June 2, 2019, but for now, Vaillant is still competing unless he says otherwise.

Vaillant explained that he was deadlifting and went to move something heavy but heard his bicep tear which sounded like “Velcro”…

“Bad news : full bicep rupture/tear = no competing soon. I was so ready to battle it out… but here is another challenge to overcome. I am documenting everything for my youtube, first video is actually online right now, just click the link in my bio. It happened not even during training, it was moving something heavy on the ground.. jerked it wrong and heard the dreaded VELCRO sound. You know what’s good though? Hopefully, Antoine Vaillant can improve as the weeks go by so he won’t have to miss out too much. Although he plans to still compete, his full recovery may take closer to a year. But, he’s taking care to make sure he will be back to his best form as soon as possible.
