Editor’s Choice – Better Body Foods Organic PBfit Peanut Butter Powder
Organic PBfit peanut butter powder is our top pick not only because it’s the most popular (OK maybe it is), but because it is as high-quality of a product as it gets. While it’s a fantastic choice for literally anyone who isn’t allergic to peanuts, it’s especially useful if you have fitness goals and want to keep the calories, carbs, and fats low.

Betty Lou’s Just Great Stuff Organic Powdered Peanut Butter (Runner-Up)
Betty’ Lou’s had to make our list of best powdered peanut butter products because it’s an all-organic, three-ingredient product that’s a definite crowd favorite.
Plus, with a name like Betty Lou’s, it almost makes you feel like the brand was started by a grandma who’d spoil her grandkids with her to-die-for peanut butter cookies that may have won first place at the local county fair (we actually think this may have been the case).

Peanut Butter and Co. Peanut Powder (Best Consistency)
Another very popular option, Peanut Butter and Co. peanut powder is made from US-grown peanuts and contains 90% less fat than your typical peanut butter. It’s similar in profile to the Naked Powder so it’s an excellent low-calorie option.
Although, the company offers a little more variety so you can get a bare peanut option that is better for recipes and mixing or one with a few grams of sugar and a little salt which makes it more enjoyable when used as a spread and eating by itself. We also like that this powder comes in small, convenient bottles that are good for many reasons.
There are also various flavor options including honey, vanilla, cocoa, flax and chia, and pure peanut.

Their mission is to “deliver products that taste good, feel good, and do good.”
Augason Farms Peanut Butter Powder (Best For Long-Term Storage/ Emergencies)
Augason Farms is a popular prepper brand because its products are packaged for longer-term emergency situations w/ oxygen absorbers to maintain freshness. You can, of course, eat it if you’re not preparing for an end of the world situation but with the current climate, these are very good products to keep in your pantry just in case.
The peanut butter powder has a shelf life of up to 5 years but we’re certain it can last longer if stored properly in a cool, dark, dry place with a temperature between 55° F and 70° F. And we really like that the powder comes in a high-grade steel can that can be used for a lot of things after you’ve eaten the contents inside.
It can be used in emergency situations for carrying water, planting, storing other foods, and much more. Although you certainly don’t need to be in an emergency situation to get some good use out of it you’re not storing the peanut butter powder long-term.
The nutrition content isn’t too different from other powdered peanut butter products but it does have a little more sodium. But we have to give this product a big thumbs up especially because there are a lot of people that love Augason Farms foods.

- 210mg (9%) sodium
- 6g carbs

Since then, a large variety of food products have been added to their inventory, many of which can last up to 25 years inside of their specially-engineered product bags.
Hoosier Hill Farm Powdered Peanut Butter
Hoosier Hill makes a very impressive all-use powdered peanut butter product. It’s a decent value overall, has fewer calories than other options, less fat, essentially no sugar, and is USA-made. There’s nothing else in here except for roasted peanuts which is ideal for those who like their peanut butter simple and nutritious!

Who makes it
Hoosier Hill Farms has made top-notch products that are guaranteed fresh since 1999. They’re a company proud of their heritage and old-fashioned values. They even still label every product by hand!
Norcal Organic Peanut Butter Protein Powder (Best High Protein Option)
This peanut butter powder stands out from the others because it’s a peanut butter protein product. Sure, all powdered peanut butter has protein but with 11g per serving, this one is nearly double that of most other options and even more than regular peanut butter. Not to mention, it only contains organic peanuts… that’s it!
It’s also high in magnesium (vital mineral for heart, nerves, muscles, glucose, and more) and fiber (carbohydrate that supports digestion, blood sugar, and helps to keep you full), and is a USA-made product.
This product does have slightly more calories, fat, and carbs than the other options in this review but it also offers an advantage due to its high protein content.
It’s a very high-quality option if you’re looking for a healthy powdered peanut butter protein product.

Crazy Richard’s 100% Pure Peanut Powder (Best For Babies and Dogs)
It’s an interesting name for a brand although not the “craziest” we’ve seen, but hey… if it does the job then that’s all that matters.
This is yet another single-ingredient (peanut powder) product that has a similar ingredient profile to many of the other options on this list. PB2 Pure Powdered Peanut Butter
We included the original PB2 on our list but the difference with this one is that it doesn’t contain salt or sugar (hence why it’s the pure version). It’s just roasted peanuts.
This is a good option if you just want the nutrition of a peanut without the extras. Although, it won’t be as tasty unless mixed or baked with other ingredients.

Better Body Foods Sugar-free PBfit Peanut Butter Powder (Best W/ added Sweetener)
The last product on our list is from the same company as two of our other picks including the Editor’s Choice organic PBfit peanut powder. That’s because Better Body Foods does make some of the best-powdered peanut butter products on the planet.
The difference between the sugar-free version and the others is that this one is naturally sweetened with a monk fruit blend and erythritol instead of sugar. But it’s still low-calorie and low-sugar with 8g of protein per serving. This version of PBfit is better for those with high blood sugar levels and diabetes who also want something with more flavor than a plain peanut powder.

How We Ranked
There are a few criteria that we consider before recommending any product.
This review was a little different than others we’ve done since it’s not a supplement or aid but rather a food item. So there are really only a few obvious criteria to look for although each product may vary slightly. The ideal powdered peanut butter needs to be palatable, have decent texture and consistency when mixed, and it should be a good overall value.
Here are the criteria we used.
Ingredients/what’s in it?
This can be subjective because one person may really like a specific product while another person may not like that same product at all. This could be due to individual taste and food preparation experience/knowledge, but it could also be due to factors that may not be consistent between different peoples’ experiences like a bad batch, opened container, misinterpretation of the ingredients/label, etc.
You can’t please everyone but at least we can offer high-quality powdered peanut butter products from reputable brands. Therefore, we didn’t just choose random products that were labeled “powdered peanut butter”. But we did choose products that have a good track record from trusted companies that we know make quality goods.
We also wanted to select a variety of products that appealed to different users because some are better suited for specific uses. For example, a plain peanut powder with no other ingredients isn’t typically the best option for using as a spread or eating by itself.
That’s because most people will find it to be incredibly bland and sometimes unpalatable (it is an acquired taste though). These are often better mixed with a shake, smoothie, or as an ingredient in baked goods. On the other hand, if you want some peanut butter for your bread, celery, etc, something with sweetness and a pinch of salt is the better choice. Although it can also be mixed in and used with other ingredients just fine.
Overall value
We consider a good value to consist of these three main factors.
- Quality of ingredients
- Amount of servings for the price
- Company reputation/history
You work hard for your money and it’d suck to throw it away by not knowing what to look for. Lucky for you… we did the digging so that you don’t have to.
What’s Powdered Peanut Butter?
Powdered peanut butter is made by pressing roasted peanuts, which removes most of the natural oil; it’s then grounded into a fine powder. What you’re left with is a powder that contains 85-90% less fat and a heck of a lot fewer calories than regular peanut butter… like 70% fewer calories!
In fact, regular peanut butter contains 190 calories and 16g fat per serving while powdered peanut butter typically contains 45 calories and 1.5g fat in a serving. Although, it can and often does slightly vary (1).
It’s also a great source of protein with about 4-8g per serving on average, although this does vary too. But it contains roughly the same amount of protein compared to the real thing. Not to mention, the fiber content is similar, with 1-3g per serving on average.
Some powders contain 1-3 grams of added sugar and a little salt because when peanut butter is dehydrated, it can be very bland and tasteless. However, some products contain only peanuts and are typically not as enjoyable when eaten from a spoon or used as a paste.
Common Uses/Who Should Buy Powdered Peanut Butter?
Powdered peanut butter is a tasty, nutritious low-calorie, low-fat, and low-carb alternative to regular peanut butter that anyone without a peanut allergy can enjoy. With that being said, there are tons of ways that it can be used; we’ve explained a few of those below.
Weight loss/health and fitness
As mentioned, powdered peanut butter has fewer calories, fats, and carbs with close to and sometimes the same amount of protein per serving as regular peanut butter.
That makes it the perfect addition to any weight loss nutrition plan because it’s low-calorie and you can add flavor to your foods without worrying as much about overdoing it. Regular peanut butter can be pretty addicting and if you’re not careful, the calories can add up.
Although your overall calorie intake is what matters, and you’ll need to have discipline regardless to ensure that you maintain a healthy weight and continue to make progress so that you can reach your weight goal.

It’s also perfect for bodybuilders and individuals focused on burning fat and getting leaner because it can still satisfy a craving without the additional calories.
With other ingredients/foods
You can use powdered peanut butter in so many different ways. It’s used for smoothies, shakes, yogurt, cookies, cakes, sandwiches, oatmeal, protein shakes, or as a dip, filling, dry seasoning, etc.
It’s extremely versatile and there are tons of recipes online if you need ideas.
Prepping/emergency food storage
Powdered peanut butter is one of the foods that preppers always recommend storing for long-term emergency or SHTF situations. Not only is it nutritious; it also has a longer shelf-life than regular peanut butter because it’s dehydrated, but it still needs to be stored in a cool, dark, and dry place with a temperature between 55° F and 70° F.
You can also repackage it in a mylar bag/s with an oxygen absorber. But if you don’t want to do that, Augason farms peanut powder, which we included on our list, is packaged in a high-grade steel can for long-term emergency storage.
How Should I Pick A Good Powdered Peanut Butter Product?
- Ingredients – when it comes to powdered peanut butter, ideally, there should be very few additional ingredients, if you don’t want just the plain version. Sugar or some type of sweetener, and salt are the only two other ingredients that you’ll see listed on the product labels of the powders we picked. We think it’s best to keep things simple when it comes to peanut powders.
- Brand reputation – all of the products on our list are from reputable brands and we’re confident in that. We chose the best powdered peanut butter products on the market. With that being said, we recommend sticking with these brands or big chain brands.
- Value – A good value offers a respectable amount of the key ingredient/s with an appropriate number of servings for a price that reflects what the product offers.
- Key Ingredients content – In this case, the key ingredient is peanut butter flour/powder. None of the products we picked are subpar in this area.
- Convenience factor – when it comes to powdered peanut butter, it’s not really a matter of what’s convenient and what isn’t. Peanut powder is used for a specific purpose (hence why you bought it instead of regular peanut butter). However, the one drawback is that you have to mix it with water and find a good consistency. In this case, it’s not as convenient as regular peanut butter if you want to scoop and eat or spread it on your Bunny bread. But for all other uses, it’s just as convenient if not more so because you don’t have to deal with sticky peanut butter because it contains so much less fat.
FAQs
How does peanut flour differ from peanut powder?
Peanut flour is crushed, defatted peanuts made into flour and peanut powder is ground peanuts made into flour with added ingredients like sugar and salt.
Is powdered peanut butter better than regular peanut butter for weight loss?
While overall calorie intake is more important than a single food item for weight loss, peanut powder has a lot fewer calories and much less fat making it the better weight loss food.
Recap
There you have it… these are the best powdered peanut butter products in our opinion. There’s some variation between them but whichever you choose depends on what you’re looking for. You might want to use it as a spread or a snack that you eat from a spoon; in that case, something with a little added sugar/sweetness and salt may be more enjoyable.
However, if you’re just using it for baking or healthy fitness recipes, then a plain peanut powder may be the best option especially if you’re adding your own sweetness or salt.
Maybe you’re a prepper or just starting out? Powdered peanut butter is a must-have in that case. But who says you have to choose just one anyway. Having a few different versions definitely gives you more options but you’ll have to decide on what you want to use it for.
But there are great options for everyone regardless.
