A post shared by Kiersten Scurlock (@scurko_savage)

‘Today I turned 29 and squatted
567 PR
Then benched
336 PR’, caption to the post read.

Scurlock completed the phenomenal lifts with great technique and looked strong doing them. The feat was achieved at the Barbell Club gym in North Kansas City, United States where she is training. The 29-year-old expressed her gratitude towards the gym and her trainer Michael Greeno for helping to keep her safe and injury-free.

‘Thank you to everyone @strong_barbell_club for helping out and keeping me safe! Huge thank you to @mjgreeno for being the best coach I would have ever asked for!’ Kiersten Scurlock wrote.

Kiersten Scurlock is set to make an appearance at The Showdown event hosted by World Raw Powerlifting Federation on September 25, 2021. The PR set by her on the birthday – less than two weeks before the event – is a testimony to the fact that her progress in training is headed in the right direction and we might witness record-breaking lifts on the D-Day.

One of the most fierce and accomplished competitors in the +90kg category, Scurlock is competing professionally since 2015. Constant evolution in her abilities is evident from her most recent records. Kiersten Scurlock holds the record for the second heaviest wrapped squat in her division. She successfully completed 667lbs  wrapped squat and lifted a total of 1537.7lbs combined (Squats, deadlifts, and bench press) at the 2021 Hooligans Holiday Bash on March 20, 2021.

The impressive lifts embody steady growth and progression in Scurlock’s preparation for The Showdown event. Seven weeks out, on August 14, Scurlock posted a video of her lifting 1412lbs total.

The breakdown of the lift was revealed in the caption to her post:

1412 training total from this past week. 25lbs over what we did @the_showdown_meet last year and we’re still 7 weeks out.

Squat 551
Bench 310
Deadlift 551

Things are about to get spicy 🌶

The combined weight was 25lbs more than what she achieved at The Showdown on September 26, 2020 where she lifted 1388lbs.

Kierston Scurlock’s strong showing in the gym proves that she has a high ceiling in terms of competitive achievements. When ‘Savage’ steps in to compete at The Showdown on September 25, it is probable that we might witness new personal records from her.
