The young Agata Sitko from Poland has emerged as the new winner of the 2024 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships. Dubbed the greatest powerlifting competition in history, the IPF Sheffield has definitely fulfilled and exceeded expectations. Countless World Records have been broken, while some mind-blowing acts of greatness have been displayed. However, despite competing against the best powerlifters in the world, Agata Sitko was levels above anyone else. She won the female division overall and set three new IPF World Records.

Agata Sitko competed as a 69-kilogram powerlifter, but she beat all of the women regardless of weight class. The rankings at the 2024 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships were based on the achieved percentage of the respective World Record Total at the time. Agata was one of the few athletes who exceeded the Total, and she achieved a 109.3%.

Agata Sitko’s Performance Recap

Squat

The squat was the only event in which Agata Sitko did not set a new IPF World Record. Regardless of that, it was clear that she was in her best shape yet, as she successfully performed all three of her attempts. Her heaviest one came out to 197.5 kilograms (435.4 pounds).

  • 185 kilograms (407.9 pounds)
  • 192.5 kilograms (424.4 pounds)
  • 197.5 kilograms (435.4 pounds)

Bench Press

Agata Sitko first rose to fame for her exceptional bench press abilities, having crushed countless Junior World Records. So, it was clear that this event would be her best one at the 2024 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships.

Agata Sitko made the most of her three bench press attempts at the 2024 IPF Sheffield, having broken the U69KG World Record on her first attempt and continuing to improve it on the second and third attempts as well. Agata’s heaviest lift on the day came out to 154 kilograms (339.5 pounds).

This would be impressive on its own. However, the fact that she broke the record of Jen Thompson, one of the greatest powerlifting icons, adds even more credit to Agata’s lift.

Jen Thompson’s U69KG IPF World Record Bench Press stood at 144 kilograms (317.5 pounds). The Hall of Famer had set the record at the 2017 IPF Reykjavík International Games.

  • 146 kilograms (321.9 pounds)
  • 152 kilograms (335.1 pounds)
  • 154 kilograms (339.5 pounds) — U69KG IPF World Record

Deadlift

The deadlift was not one of Agata Sitko’s best lifts in the past. But, the situation has changed tremendously during her preparation for the 2024 IPF Sheffield. So, Agata once again put up a record breaking performance with a 248.5-kilogram (547.8-pound) Deadlift U69KG IPF World Record.

Agata Sitko utilized a sumo stance to perform her deadlifts and a hook grip to grab the barbell. Considering that it marked a new World Record, Agata’s lift looked quite easy. So, perhaps she was capable of doing even more.

Once again, Agata Sitko broke a record that holds a lot of respect, especially since it previously belonged to Kimberly Walford. Moreover, the record has remained untouched for the past decade, since Kimberly set it by deadlifting 240 kilograms (529.1 pounds) at the 2014 PA Pacific Challenge.

  • 235 kilograms (518.1 pounds)
  • 242 kilograms (533.5 pounds)
  • 248.5 kilograms (547.8 pounds) — U69KG IPF World Record

Total — 600 kilograms (1,322.8 pounds) — U69KG IPF World Record

*Prescillia Bavoil held the previous U69KG IPF Total World Record. It stood at 549-kg (1,210.3-lb), with Bavoil setting the mark at the 2023 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships.

It is important to note that Agata Sitko has spent the majority of her career competing in the 84KG and 76KG weight classes. So, this was her first time competing in the 69-kilogram weight class, and it was historic.

Despite being much lighter than before, Agata Sitko has lifted significantly more weight than she was capable of during her previous appearances. So, taking everything into account, Agata is one of the best female powerlifters currently, despite being just over 20 years old.
