Anton Ratushnyi just became the youngest competitor in the Classic Physique category at 19 years old. With youth on his side, he’s already made a statement by turning Pro. However, it’s his three-year transformation that Ratushnyi shared on Instagram that truly shows why he is such a special contender in the sport.
After competing at one of the biggest amateur shows in bodybuilding, Anton Ratushnyi blew away the audience with his slim waist alongside incredible conditioning and symmetry. His attention to detail in training paid off when he secured his Pro card at the 2023 NPC National Championships in Irvine last weekend.
Anton Ratushnyi is mirroring the same route that Urs Kalecinski took while working his way up the ladder. Germany’s Kalecinski snagged his Pro card at 21 years old and since then has been working side by side with bodybuilding greats like five-time Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead. At the 2023 Mr. Olympia, Urs Kalecinski placed third, another astounding performance on the biggest stage.

“15 to 18 yo transformation” Ratushnyi wrote.
His passion and dedication to the sport combined with his youth make him a dangerous talent within the IFBB Pro League. With online comparisons to heavy hitters such as Lee Priest who was also ripped at 19, fans are highly curious to see how Anton handles himself against the best Classic Physique competitors the sport has to offer.
With names such as Chris Bumstead and Urs Kalecinski emerging in the league with massive popularity, some have suggested that Classic Physique is taking over the Men’s Open in terms of notoriety. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger has mentioned that the Classic Physique Olympia should be named the Mr. Olympia.
Youth in bodybuilding has been a thriving combination as of late. In addition to Ratushnyi’s quick fame, fans have largely gotten behind bodybuilding influencer Sam Sulek. At just 21 years old, he continues to take the internet by storm with a ripped build. While his physique may be less aesthetic than Anton’s, his followers relate to his unconventional dieting habits.
Anton Ratushnyi no doubt has many roads to travel ahead of his budding bodybuilding career. Given his golden-era look, stage presence, and posing abilities, Ratushnyi could easily become a future threat on the sport’s greatest stage, which is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary at 2024 Olympia, October 10-13 in Las Vegas, Nevada next year.
