Arnold Schwarzenegger shares 5-min no-equipment workout of the week
In a recent edition of The Daily Pump newsletter, Arnold Schwarzenegger shared a 5-minute workout routine that did not require any equipment. He backed the routine as a great warm-up or a great way to kickstart your day.
“We want to provide a workout you can do the moment you step out of bed. But don’t worry, no equipment is needed and it’s an easy and powerful way to start your day,” he wrote. “This 5-minute routine will turn on your brain, get your blood flowing, and fix tightnesses caused by a lack of mobility, so you feel and move better.
“Most of us spend our days hunched at a computer or slouching while sitting on chairs or couches. That’s not good news for your posture and can even lead to an increased chance of injury, aches, or pains.
But, if you “wake” up the muscles in your core and upper back, it can help fix your posture, and your entire body will fell the difference. This do-anywhere four-exercise circuit can be a great warmup. But, we’ve found it to be an amazing morning jumpstart. After you get up, do 1 set of each of these four exercises. Once it’s done, you’ve already taken a big step toward conquering your day.”
5 Minute Workout:
- Cat Camel: 5-8 reps (inhale on way up, exhale on way down)
- Kneeling thread-through to reach: 3-5 reps on each side
- Bird Dog: 5-8 reps on each side
- Bent over IYT 15 reps on each variation (I, Y, and T)
Arnold Schwarzenegger has a wealth of fitness knowledge. He suggested fans use wave training to push through any point of stalled progress in the gym. Then, he provided a 9-minute core workout along with reasons to incorporate bodyweight exercises for improved heart health.
