Big Ramy recently posted a progress photo on Instagram where he’s looking pretty impressive to be quite honest. And in the post, he explained that he’ll be much better for his next show seeing as in 2018, he fell to a disheartening 6th place after a second place finish in 2017.
Now, Ramy showed a lot of promise at the beginning of his Professional career progressively placing better each year from 2013 (8th place) to 2017 where he was the runner-up to Phil Heath. But then after his 2018 performance, he decided not to compete at the 2019 Mr. Olympia competition.
And then Big Ramy was dealing with some shoulder issues in the beginning of the year which he said wasn’t anything serious. But because of his performance last year, it was obvious he wasn’t the same altogether which is likely a big reason why he made the decision to skip out in 2019. His coach Neil Hill even advised that he take a year off to reset so that he can be at his absolute best when he comes back (hopefully in 2020).
But apparently, he’s not stopping now and at age 35, Big Ramy can easily compete for another decade in the Open division since age isn’t as big of a limiting as it is for Professional athletic sports competition.

“I can’t stop now… i will be back much better in my next show 🙏 i only need hard work and im putting in that extra hard work every day“
Big Ramy was looking incredible before the 2019 Olympia so he’s definitely preparing to compete soon. We just know don’t exactly when at at what show, although there are several coming up like the Fit Parade Pro Grand Prix (October 12-13), the IFBB Monsterzym Pro (October 19-20), and many more, of course.
But we know from Ramy’s past history in competition that he’s entirely capable of bringing a much improved package and we hope to see his improvements.
