Big Ramy hasn’t secured a spot for the 2019 Olympia since he didn’t actually compete in any shows. Earlier this year, Ramy explained that he was having some shoulder issues and “rumors” spread that he wouldn’t be competing since he’d need surgery.

Well, Big Ramy explained that he didn’t know where the rumors were coming from and that he’d be competing at the Tampa Pro. He said his injury was minor and that he just needed a rest.

However, it was obvious that he never made it to the Tampa Pro.

Last year was a real disappointment for Ramy, placing 6th at the Olympia after taking second the year prior, and he even apologized to his fans. So he left Oxygen to work with Neil Hill but soon after, rumors spread that he left Hill.

It was obvious Ramy needed some time to get himself together mentally and physically so he can come back better next year.

Hill explained that it’s not possible to be at your best with so many things affecting you.

Big Ramy is still so young in the sport at 34 years of age and he can still be a serious threat to the title. He has what it takes to win but he has to step up the conditioning game and that may even mean downsizing a little.

But, we’ll be following Big Ramy throughout the year to see how he progresses.

Here’s a recent Instagram video of an intense gym session…
