Muscular Development’s Ron Harris sits down with Giles Thomas of Digital Muscle in an interview where the topic was Big Ramy, and they confirm that he will not be competing in the 2019 New York Pro. Ramy’s coach Neil Hill was actually the source of this confirmation, stating that Ramy will definitely not be competing in the New York Pro.
Ramadan involves a month (Sun, May 5, 2019 – Tue, Jun 4, 2019) of fasting for the Muslim religion, and it’ll be very interesting to see how a 300+ pound (On stage) freak will handle days with limited food. But, it’s nothing new for Big Ramy. In fact, Ron Harris explained that he heard from a source that Ramy would
“reverse his schedule and try to sleep as much during the daylight hours as possible and he’d be up literally all night and try to turn the day into his night so he could get more meals in”.
But the real worrisome aspect of this whole situation is that Big Ramy will have to attend and win one of the following shows to qualify for the 2019 Mr. Olympia competition… Battle of Britain, Chicago Pro, Vancouver Pro, Portugal Pro, George Farrah Classic, and the Tampa Pro.

Big Ramy’s best year was 2017 of which he placed second at the Olympia and won the Arnold Classic. But since then it seemed as if everything just went downhill for him when he placed sixth at the 2018 Olympia.
However, Ramy’s new coach Neil Young has the track record of training elite athletes (Flex Lewis) and the experience to guide Big Ramy toward achieving his best physique yet. Hopefully, we’ll see big things from Ramy in 2019, and we expect his conditioning to be top notch.
