Very sad news for the bodybuilding community with the passing of Czech bodybuilding legend Anton Holič, who was aged 68 at the time of his death. According to some reports, three-time European champion of the International Federation IFBB, died supposedly due to COVID-19 complications.

Holič was born on August 26, 1952, and passed away on April 7, 2021.

He brought an impressive physique to the stage, making a name for himself in the IFBB Amateur Association and the European and World Championships.

Anton Holic developed an interest in bodybuilding at a young age and would train in a basement with minimal, homemade equipment after aspiring to look like his idols.

His first show was in 1973 at a Regional Championship where he finished third.

Several years later, he placed 3rd at the IFBB World Amateur Championships and the very next year, won the European Amateur Championships. He ended up taking first at the same competition in 1981 and 1983, of which he competed in the middleweight class all three times.

Holič was an exceptional talent during his competitive years and it’s really unfortunate to have lost another legend.
