Breon Ansley isn’t playing games as he prepares for the 2024 Mr. Olympia, and that extends to his kitchen and nutrition choices. In a recent YouTube video shared on August 27, 2024, Ansley walked his fans through his strict full day of eating in prep for the biggest show of the year in seven weeks.
Having earned the Classic Physique Olympia title back-to-back in 2017 and 2018, Breon Ansley’s appetite for victory won’t be appeased until he reigns supreme once more. However, this will be no easy task, considering Chris Bumstead is the current champion and has been dominating the Classic Physique division for five years straight.
Speaking of stiff competition, Breon Ansley will also go head-to-head with Wesley Vissers, who has already revealed how much of a threat he is on stage following his win at the 2024 Arnold Classic Ohio and UK shows. Meanwhile, Ramon Rocha Queiroz was the runner-up at last year’s Mr. Olympia, skirting just behind Cbum begrudgingly. Queiroz revealed that he intends to be even more dedicated as he prepares for the Olympia stage.
Breon Ansley Shares ‘Hardcore’ Contest Prep Diet for 2024 Mr. Olympia
However, Breon Ansley isn’t intimidated by the impressive lineup set to take the Classic Physique stage this October. In fact, he revealed he is using the negative attention as fuel to push him harder during his prep. Ansley proved this during his recent YouTube video, where he walked his fans through a hardcore full day of eating ahead of the 2024 Mr. Olympia.

Meal 1
- 3 Ounces of Lean Ground Chicken
- 1/4 Cup Cream of Rice (Dry)
- 2 Whole Eggs (Free Range)
To start his day, Breon Ansley explained that he knocks out his cardio before sitting down to enjoy his breakfast.
“Today is the diet. We are seven and a half weeks out of the Olympia. Seven and a half weeks out… and we’re going to take you through the diet today. This is after the cardio.”
“I like to eat breakfast at about 8 o’clock after the cardio, it’s 8:30 now, a little late but we’ll make it through.”
Meal 2
- 6 Ounces of Lean Ground Chicken
- A Handful of Parsley
- 1/4 Cup of Almonds
Heading into his second meal, Ansley revealed it was a leg day. He shared that he likes to get three meals in before hitting the gym.
“Okay meal two man. It’s time. It’s 11:00 ready to rock for meal two. It’s real simple this one,” says Ansley.
“A handful of parsley which is a good diuretic.”
“Today is leg day so we’ll have meal three in another two and a half to three hours and then we’ll hit legs about another 45 minutes to an hour after that. I like to get at least three meals in before back and legs.”
For the rest of his training split, Ansley shares that his body can usually handle only two meals.
“Every other body part can handle just two meals before training or whatever the schedule permits. I try my my very very best to get at least three meals in before back and legs. If I can get four, if it happens that way before or I wake up early enough, I’m rocking and rolling with the time, training around 1 o’clock, then four is amazing.”
Meal 3
- Four Ounces of Bison
- Two Ounces of Lean Ground Chicken
- 1/4 Cup of Almonds
With just seven weeks till the 2024 Mr. Olympia, Breon Ansley’s diet is only getting more intense, allowing for only one carb-rich meal a day.
“We are going a little hardcore for the next two weeks with low carbs. Maybe just one carb meal a day as you saw after cardio. Then we’ll have a quarter cup of almonds.”
“That’s it for the carbs. The next two meals will be like white fish meals or a salmon and a white fish. I have my choice.”
Meal 4
- 6 Ounces of Cod
- Handful of Veggies (Kale, Spinach, Parsley)
Ansley was able to squeeze in a fourth meal before his leg day workout, underlining that he intends to have a pretty strenuous workout.
“And we rockin’ with that. So I’m going to eat this, this is the four meals before the legs. Remember I said, it’s a wonderful thing if I can get four in before legs.”
“It’s 6 then you better be getting in at least four meals before legs if you’re training that late. I’m expecting such a big leg day. Heavy, hard, intense. Heavy and volume” Ansley said.
Meal 5
- 6 Ounces of Cod
- 1/4 Cup of Almonds
- Veggies
For his final meal of the day, Ansley revealed he wasn’t that hungry and decided to eat the cod he had left over from earlier.
“Pretty tired and ready to go to bed. So I’m not too hungry actually for this meal. It goes a little something like this.”
“Veggies, veggies, veggies. I could have ground chicken, I could have ground chicken family or egg whites, six ounces of egg whites, six ounces of white fish, six ounces of ground chicken, but the cod is right there. Like I said, I’m tired so that’s what I’m going to rock and roll with.”
Ansley believes that this will be what his day-to-day diet consists of for the next couple of weeks. However, it is subject to change according to his weight and overall look.
“That’s probably going to be the diet for the next week and a half to two weeks. This is going to be the diet until it changes according to the weight, according to the scale, according to the look, of course.”
Breon Ansley is headed into the 2024 Mr. Olympia strong following an impressive win at the Dubai Pro in late July. Before that, Ansley notched a respectable fourth-place finish at the Arnold Classic, coming behind Urs Kalecinski, Ramon Rocha Queiroz, and Wesley Vissers.
Taking into consideration the experience Breon Ansley has on the prestigious stage, it would be foolish to count him out as a title contender. Whether he will have what it takes to knock five-time Classic Physique Olympia champion Chris Bumstead off his throne, time will only tell.
