It just keeps getting better for the reigning Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead. Just one week after earning his fifth title victory at the 2023 Mr. Olympia, Cbum shared in an Instagram post that he and his Fiancée, Courtney King, are expecting their first baby in 2024.
Chris Bumstead has been a dominating figure in the Classic Physique division since earning his first Olympia title in 2019. Since then, he has gone on to defend the crown four more times with his latest being at the 2023 Mr. Olympia. Though his rise to fame hasn’t been easy.
Last year, Cbum announced that his brother-in-law Iain Valliere would no longer be his coach although this ultimately led to Hany Rambod training him which seems to have been the right move for his career. Additionally, Chris Bumstead has had to push through injuries such as his bicep tear that happened right before he won his fourth Classic Physique title at the 2022 Mr. Olympia.
The struggles haven’t let up for the champion who shared during this year’s prep that he was still dealing with his anxiety and overwhelming emotions though this time around he was focused on embracing his feelings and pushing through. On top of that, during his post-victory speech at the Olympia, Cbum revealed that he had suffered another injury, this time being a lat tear, and no one was the wiser.
Chris Bumstead and Fiancée Courtney King Expecting First Child In 2024
Now Chris Bumstead is off on another adventure after sharing that he and his fiancée Courtney King are expecting a bundle of joy in 2024. The two met back in 2018 after King made the first move. Since then, they have been inseparable and got engaged in September of 2022.
Courtney King is a former Ms. Bikini Olympia champion and since her retirement has been an avid supporter of Bumstead throughout his reign. The couple shared their big news in an Instagram post just one week following Bumstead’s fifth Classic Physique victory.
“Baby Bum Coming 2024 🤍” the couple wrote.
Bumstead isn’t the only Olympia champion expecting their first baby in 2024. Derek Lunsford, who just earned the Mr. Olympia title and the Sandow trophy, announced earlier this year that he and his wife were expecting a baby in early 2024. While on stage at the 2023 Mr. Olympia, Derek Lunsford brought his wife on stage and kissed her stomach after sharing how thankful he was.

Fans can look forward to both these champs continuing their reign as well as their bloodline. 2024 will be a year filled with exciting announcements as well as performances from athletes. Lunsford and Bumstead have lifetime qualifications on the Olympia stage where they will both be looking to defend their thrones.
