Despite being called out for using steroids by Derek MPMD (More Plates More Dates) and lying about it, fanfare for Brian Johnson, well-known as Liver King hasn’t waned. In a recent YouTube video, Derek MPMD reflected on exposing Liver King and discussed his influence over the desiccated organ supplement market.
Liver King has maintained a notable influence on the fitness industry, thanks to his jacked physique, adventurous personality, and raw meat-eating diet. He lives by ‘ancestral tenets’ that focus on preserving health, wellness, family, community, and a strong connection with nature and animals.
Having claimed natural for most of 2022, Liver King was constantly called out, with names such as Joe Rogan leading the charge, insisting that he was ‘full’ of steroids. Last December, Derek MPMD dropped the bomb, exposing Johnson for his expensive steroid cycle leaked via email.
Fans were astounded when they discovered Liver King was spending over $11,000 a month on growth hormone alone. With time to reflect on exposing Liver King, Derek of MPMD joined Zack Telander for a candid discussion.
Derek MPMD Reflects on Liver King Exposé and His Influence on the Supplement Industry
Looking back, Derek admitted his Liver King video was one of his most extensive. However, even though Johnson was exposed for his steroid use, Derek doesn’t believe Liver King has ‘fallen off.’
“That’s probably like the most intensive video I have on my channel I think in terms of production value and all that went into it.”

“Yeah, it’s totally new territory [for Liver King]. I think it couldn’t have gone better though. It was like exactly an hour too, it was pretty sick [the Liver King exposé video]. I don’t think he’s really fallen off since,” said Derek of MPMD.
As for Liver King’s influence on the desiccated organ supplement market, podcast host Zack Telander shared that he ‘runs’ the ‘wholesaling’ in America.
“I heard from Mark Bell that he runs desiccated organ wholesaling in America. So if you have desiccated organs in your supplements that you sell and you have nothing to do with his supplement brands, it’s likely coming through him. If you want to source desiccated organs it has to come through him that’s another thing that he’s making money,” said Zack Telander.
In addition to owning Ancestral Supplements, Liver King runs Heart and Soil and a brand called The Fittest Ever. In Derek of MPMD’s opinion, “if you want to private label your own beef liver product or whatever, presumably, it would maybe touch his hands.”
“Yeah, I wonder, how many brands he has associated with them because I’m aware of Ancestral and Heart and Soil and then there was some other one, The Fittest, which had his bar and stuff but I don’t know,” shared Derek MPMD.
“Yeah sourcing it, if you want to private label your own beef liver product or whatever, presumably, it would maybe touch his hands,” he adds.
Liver King and his supplement companies came under fire recently, as a man in New York sued him and Ancestral Supplements LLC and The Fittest Ever LLC for $25 million. The man based in New York explained that Johnson promoted his products by consistently appearing shirtless and shared that his efforts dangerously misled people into consuming a diet that resulted in ‘severe food-borne illnesses.’
Then, in September, the legal drama continued. It was reported by Bloomberg that additional ‘betrayed followers’ were filing lawsuits against the liver-eating sensation. Despite the setbacks, Johnson hasn’t stopped living his life to the fullest. He recently took to a YouTube video to explain and justify why he was returning to performance-enhancing drugs.
Even with these dilemmas, Liver King hasn’t fallen off according to Derek of More Plates More Dates. Currently, Liver King boasts over 2 million followers on Instagram and continues to promote the ancestral lifestyle.
