The world’s biggest Hollywood star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, revealed on Instagram Wednesday that he and his family tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
It has surely been a year fit for the history books with this Covid-19 situation, and at the moment, there’s no telling when, or if, things will return back to how they were at the beginning of 2020 (make of that what you will).
The Rock started off by explaining that he, his wife Lauren, and his two baby girls, Jasmine, 4, and Tiana, 2, tested positive for Covid-19. He said it has been of the most difficult things that they’ve ever had to experience as a family. And although he acknowledged that he has had his fair share of challenges in life, this heath situation was apparently worse than anything he has ever had to deal with because his family was also affected by it.
“Testing positive for Covid-19 was much different than overcoming nasty injuries, or being evicted, or being broke, which I’ve been a few times.”
The priority of any father and husband is to protect his family of which he acknowledged. But he shared that he and his family have recovered, are no longer contagious, and are healthy after three weeks of quarantine.

He also offered a few takeaways from this whole experience to help others to not get it and also to get through it.
“We got Covid-19 from very close family friends. These are people who we love and trust and these are people who we still love and trust.”
His family friends were devastated to learn that they spread the virus to his family because they were disciplined just as he is with protecting his health and his family’s health. But he’s not taking this situation lightly and has decided to set new rules when it comes to social interactions even with his family friends.

“Have them tested. Get everybody tested before they come over. Have them tested the day before, if they test positive, you stay away, if you don’t, then you come over.”
Then, of course, he suggests focusing on living healthier, and boosting your immune system. He also mentioned how important he believes it is to wear a mask for yourself and others. “It’s the right thing to do.”
The Rock is optimistic for a better future with vaccines and believes that things will look a lot different in the coming years. But he reiterated his suggestions for protecting against the Covid-19 until then.
This was his Instagram message that accompanied the video…
“My message to all of you around the 🌎

Boost your immune system.

Wear your mask.
