After an incredible weekend at the 2024 Mr. Olympia, the athletes are now looking ahead to what comes next. In recent posts shared on Instagram October 13-14, 2024, Erin Banks revealed that he is starting a new chapter after four successful years of bodybuilding.
It has been a wild ride for the former Men’s Physique Olympia champion Erin Banks. He reached new heights in his career when he earned gold on the 2022 Mr. Olympia stage. However, shortly after, Banks bet on himself at the 2023 Legions Sports Fest Pro, where he fell short of the victory. Unbeknownst to Erin Banks, this only foreshadowed what was to come.
When taking to the 2023 Mr. Olympia stage, Banks’ thick back wasn’t enough to compete with former Men’s Physique champion Brandon Hendrickson, who earned silver, nor did it hold weight over the incredible package presented by the new champion, Ryan Terry. With the bronze in hand, Erin Banks vowed to return the following year and reclaim the title.
Erin Banks Shifts Focus Away from Bodybuilding After 3rd Place Finish at 2024 Men’s Physique Olympia
Despite his best efforts, Erin Banks would once again earn third place on the Olympia stage, even after Hendrickson’s withdrawal from the event. After Ryan Terry reigned supreme for the second year in a row, Banks has shared several Instagram posts that hint at him stepping away from the sport.
“I want to take a moment to thank all of my sponsors, fans, and especially my coach @_cutz_ These last four years have been an incredible journey, filled with highs and challenges, growth and victories.
I’m beyond grateful for the unwavering support that has fueled me along the way. But now, it’s time for me to shift my focus.”

Banks revealed that he wants to focus on his kids and his family in his new stage of life.
“My greatest role yet is being a FATHER, and my time and energy will be fully dedicated to that. I’m stepping into this next chapter with the same passion and commitment, giving 1000% to my kids, The journey continues, and I’ll always carry the lessons and strength from this chapter forward. Thank you all for being a part of it” Erin Banks shared.
Banks also shared his gratitude for his coach, who helped him over the past four years of his bodybuilding career.
“I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the past four years. You’ve been more than just a coach, you’ve been a mentor, a guide, and a source of support throughout my entire bodybuilding journey. From the very start, you saw potential in me that I didn’t even realize I had, and you pushed me to levels I never thought I could reach. Your belief in me, especially during the toughest times, has been a driving force behind my growth, not only as an athlete but as a person.”
He makes it clear that he and his coach are in it together no matter what the future holds.
“I can honestly say that without your guidance and dedication, I wouldn’t be where I am today. The bond we’ve formed goes beyond just training…you’re not just my coach, but someone I consider family. I love you like a brother, and I’ll always carry that with me, no matter where this journey takes us. Thank you for being there through every challenge, every triumph, and every step of the way. Here’s to all the hard work, the sacrifices, and the victories we’ve shared, with many more to come. I Love You Bro!”
Before hitting the 2024 Men’s Physique Olympia stage, Erin Banks had teased that he might switch to Classic Physique. Now, after making it clear he is shifting his focus following his second time placing third, fans are unsure what the future will hold for Banks.
While his trajectory remains unclear, Erin Banks has brought so much to the Men’s Physique category as well as bodybuilding as a whole. Although it seems Banks may be stepping away to focus on his family, no one will forget what he’s accomplished in the Men’s Physique division.
