The 2022 IPF World Equipped Open Powerlifting Championships began on November 14th and will conclude on November 20th in Viborg, Denmark. Lasting an entire week, this competition gathered all of the best powerlifters from each division, one of which was Gregory Johnson, who had put on a spectacular performance with his incredible strength and stamina. Gregory competed in the 93-kilogram weight class and what made him stand out from the others was his deadlift. He loaded 371.5 kilograms (819 pounds) on the barbell and scored a new IPF Deadlift World Record upon locking it out successfully. Thus, Gregory had one of the highlights of the entire week.

Gregory Johnson’s joy was uncontainable once his 371.5-kilogram (819-pound) IPF Equipped World Record would count. He first did a little dance, before dropping down to his knees. That was followed by him jumping up and hugging some people.

Ian Bell previously held the U93KG IPF Equipped Deadlift World Record, having pulled 371 kilograms (817.9 pounds) at the 2017 IPF World Games.
