Hafthor Bjornsson is known for many things, but his deadlift strength is easily one of his most remarkable features. So, Hafthor has decided to push his limits once again and is preparing to break the Deadlift World Record. In doing so, he put on a lot of mass, recently sharing a 200-kilogram (440.9-pound) physique update ahead of his upcoming appearance.

Hafthor Bjornsson will compete at the 2025 Eisenhart Black Competition on July 26th in Bavaria, Germany. It is a deadlift & bench press only competition, allowing the athletes to choose either one to perform. Hafthor will be going there in hopes of achieving a massive deadlift, aiming for 505 kilograms (1,113.3 pounds). So, less than one week remains until the competition, and Hafthor is almost ready to further advance the record.

Hafthor Bjornsson’s 200-kilogram (440.9-pound) physique looks phenomenal, showing slight signs of the six-pack that he used to have. While many would look obese carrying as much weight around, Hafthor’s 6’9” (2.05-meter) frame allows him to maintain a lean look. Moreover, he looks like a real-life giant, justifying his nickname ‘The Mountain’, which he received during his appearance in the Game of Thrones series.

“200kg bodyweight. I haven’t felt this strong since 2020. I’m ready for 505kg” wrote Hafthor on Instagram.

This gave people the opportunity to question the legitimacy of the lift, thus affecting Hafthor’s legacy. However, he is now just days away from attempting to break the record and showing his capabilities.

Hafthor Bjornsson has decided to skip some notable competitions in an effort to prepare for the deadlift world record attempt, including the World’s Strongest Man. He has also withdrawn from the upcoming 2025 Strongest Man On Earth, primarily due to the concern of injuries.

As for his other Strongman plans, Hafthor Bjornsson is expected to compete at the 2025 Iceland’s Strongest Man, where he hopes to claim another national title. Moreover, he is a confirmed competitor for the 2025 Rogue Invitational, which will take place on October 31st – November 2nd in Aberdeen, Scotland.
