James Hollingshead will have to miss a few training sessions after being diagnosed with Covid-19 a few months out from the 2021 Mr. Olympia. He shared the news on his Instagram Saturday with a video post and message to his fans.
“Covid got me chaps.
Sorry I’ve been been quiet.
We live in a time where not much is personal and I wanted some time to digest the situation.
As a bodybuilder with a very fortunate support network I feel it right to let people know the current situation.
So yeah there it is been out of action for a while but hey it is what it is and there is not a lot one can do except ride this shit out.

I’ll be staying isolated until I get a string of negative tests.
I honestly don’t think this will have too much effect on my efforts this year besides the obvious week + of no training.
For now I’m just gonna focus on the day ahead and once I’m ready to get back it I will.
Cheers guys.”
After two positive tests, there was no doubting the fact that he had contracted the virus. He explained being housebound since testing positive and he’s just been eating his rest day food and not training.
Hollingshead has qualified for the past two Olympias, although he did not compete at last year’s event after punching his ticket with a Europa Pro Show win. But he was actually the first to qualify for the 2021 Olympia after winning the 2020 British Grand Prix.
