Jay Cutler Gives Key Advice on Mastering Back Squats: ‘Keep The Bar a Little Lower on The Neck’
Jay Cutler reminded his followers that he is the ‘king of squats’ while sharing his tips for completing proper back squats on leg day.
“I am the king of squats, and by the way I did squat 700 at 19. But, for the back squat okay, the most important, I like to keep the bar a little lower on the neck, so not too high on the neck, sitting in the middle of the back, and ideally remember when you squat you want to keep your head up or facing forward” Jay Cutler explained.
Cutler says back squats are the best exercise for leg development, emphasizing that they should be included in your routine every week.
“Really, if you keep your head back and up a little bit it’s gonna help with your plane as you go down, and remember ass to the grass. So you always want to go deep, parallel. You want to do clean repetitions with the squat. But I feel like this is still the meat and potato exercise that’s going to give you the best leg development and it is ideal in your workout every single week!”
