Just because Jessica Buettner is preparing for a contest in which she competes for a good cause, does not mean she is not taking things seriously. This fact was proven recently, when she completely annihilated her deadlift training session
At 25 years old, the sky is the limit for Buettner who has won several championships throughout Canada over her solid but still young powerlifting career. At every turn it seems that she is improving each part of her game, and that is not to mention the numerous records she has already captured. All of this, while having to deal with the day-to-day difficulties of having Type 1 Diabetes, and trying to maintain a proper diet for lifting.
Currently, Jessica Buettner is gearing up for the Deadlift 4 Cancer meet, which is an annual Halloween-themed bench-only meet for cancer awareness. Jessica will be making her debut in the 76kg division at this meet, and has been working hard to preparing for this contest. In the efforts to get ready for the competition, she had a crazy deadlift training session, hitting an enormous 508lb deadlift triple that she decided to share with her Instagram followers.
“508lbs/230kgs x 3!!
Training for @deadlift4cancer this week, and ngl this might be better than the entry I put up 😂 (See their page for online entry info) But I really felt like going for it on the top sets today”

This set with undoubtedly a battle for Jessica, as you can see her fighting with the weight, especially on her third rep. Nevertheless she powered through and looked incredible in doing so. This was not her only crazy training session leading into the Deadlift 4 Cancer meet either. Just a couple of days before this, she was seen pulling a solid 485lb for four reps.
