‘Russian Popeye’ Kirill Tereshin, better known as ‘Synthol Kid,’ looks to have avoided a double arm amputation, for the time being. In a pair of Instagram posts on Jan. 28, 2026, he revealed that he had one of his biceps drained and discussed the recent operation.

Site enhancement oils like synthol play a controversial role in bodybuilding. Athletes have used them to artificially enhance their physiques. However, they come with major health risks; bodybuilding legends have been open about their harm.

Milos Sarcev and Flex Wheeler regret using synthol throughout their careers. While Tereshin doesn’t compete in the sport, his pursuit of bigger arms has fueled the dangerous habit. Tereshin has been vocal about his situation and shared that he fears dying. In 2021, he survived a life-saving surgery to remove oil and rotten muscle from his biceps

In his last update to fans, Tereshin mentioned the possibility of undergoing a double arm amputation. Fortunately, it looks like that’s been tabled for the meantime. However, he did develop significant scar tissue from the ordeal.

In a separate post, he touched on the ‘Bazooka’ operation:

“Hello guys and girls. I’m showing you that I am in a different country,” he said. “I’m already a grown man. I’m 30 years old. By the way, I’m without a cap, do you see? I don’t have a bald spot.

It’s hot, warm, plus 30 degrees. The bazooka here, it’s been operated on, so you don’t think it’s an old video and so on. I don’t know what else I’ll be filming. I always enjoy life. If I’m not showing, it doesn’t mean that,” he shared

Tereshin has made it clear he wants to boast a one-of-a-kind look. In addition to synthol in his arms, he ignored doctor recommendations and received alien injections in his face. He reasoned that aliens are the most powerful race in the world.

Synthol use comes with legitimate risks. Bodybuilding champ Andrea Lorini, nicknamed ‘The Giant,’ was known for using site enhancements in his arms. He was recently found deceased in his bed at 48. According to his family, a sudden illness caused him to have a heart attack. Additionally, ‘Brazilian Popeye,’ Arlindo de Souza, who also injected synthol in his biceps, died at 51

As of this writing, Tereshin hasn’t brought up any upcoming surgeries. For now, it appears he’ll continue healing from his latest bicep-draining operation.
