Michal ‘Krizo’ Krizanek is giving his take on the recent bodybuilding action that took over the Czech Republic. In a YouTube video shared on November 29, 2024, he recapped Martin Fitzwater’s victory over Chris Bumstead. In addition, he explained why he doesn’t see ‘Cbum’ as an Open Bodybuilder.

Although Krizo wasn’t able to make it to the EVLS Prague Pro, it was arguably the most exciting of any IFBB Pro League event this year. Fitzwater and reigning six-time Classic Physique Olympia champion Chris Bumstead fought for gold.

While the competition appeared close, Fitzwater comfortably took home the title against ‘Cbum’ despite suffering from his hamstring popping on stage. In light of Bumstead’s success, many have suggested he’d perform well at the Olympia, however, Krizo isn’t one of them.

Michal Krizo Agrees with Martin Fitzwater’s Prague Pro Win: “I Don’t See Bumstead as an Open Bodybuilder”

Even though he didn’t see the show live, Krizo watched from his hotel room on TV. He doubted Bumstead’s ability to win before the Prague Pro and it turned out he was correct.

“Let me say this… I wasn’t there for either the semifinals or the finals. I didn’t see it live. I was so tired, I paid for the livestream to watch it from the hotel. And I don’t know, I think the outcome was good. I said from the start — Open is Open and Fitzwater should win, which was the case,” shares Krizo.

Krizo underlined that Bumstead’s physique looks more Classic and had he won in Prague, that would have been further illustrated on the Olympia stage. He also claimed Bumstead would have placed third if he entered the show.

“Even though many people disagreed and many people wished that Bumstead would qualify for Mr. Olympia. But I can’t help myself. I don’t see Bumstead as an Open bodybuilder. There was a lineup of people here at EVLS but if he went to the Olympia, you could see the difference between Classic and Open.”

“I do [agree with Chris Bumstead’s placing in Prague], it’s okay. As long as he wasn’t first, it’s fine. And I was there, he would have finished third. Just kidding.”

Krizo remains one of the most-talked-about Open threats in the IFBB Pro League. Time will tell if he’s able to earn his qualification for the 2025 Mr. Olympia next year.
