At just 26 years old, powerlifter Miles Taylor has already proven himself inspirational, simply for all that he has accomplished while living with Cerebral Palsy. However he is not finished with these inspiring moments, as he recently hit a new PR that was enough to make anybody stand up and cheer for him.
They call him Smiles Taylor, and that is because he always has a smile on his face, no matter what life has thrown his way. This young powerlifter has made waves in the strength sports community because of his perseverance and incredible story. Being born with CP, which is a group of disorders that effect balance, movement, and muscle growth, he has managed to not let this prevent him from pursuing his passion of lifting. His skills even got the attention of the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger, who praised the young man after watching him lift at the 2019 Arnold Classic.

Recently Miles Taylor was back in the gym and hard at work again. This time however, he managed to reach a new height in his lifting journey. According to a post to his Instagram, Miles managed to hit a 210lb deadlift using a trap bar. This turned out to be a new personal record for him too, and the excitement on the faces of both him, and his trainer Nicolai Myers, is infectious.
“210 lbs PR!!!!” Taylor wrote. “Most I’ve ever pulled! A huge thank you to my coach @uncle.nic for always being there by my side and for finally showing me the trap bar 😂 Love you brother!”

Watching the video, you can actually hear the fact that Taylor did not even know that he was lifting 210lb, and pulling a new personal record. That makes the performance all the more impressive and emotional to watch. It is clear that Miles surprised himself with his own strength, and that is something everybody can be proud of.
What makes this even crazier, is that Taylor has not been using the trap bar for very long. It was only about a week and a half earlier that he did this variation of the deadlift for the first time. Check out his first experience with this type of deadlift.
There is simply no way that you can watch these performances from Miles Taylor and not be blown away by what he has been able to accomplish. He likes to say that Cerebral Palsy has him, not the other way around, and even day he proves this to be true. He is an inspiration to everyone who thinks that they can not achieve their goals.
