Bodybuilding veteran Rich Gaspari has made it a point to stay in shape during his retirement, where he’s focused on staying rejuvenated. The 60-year-old has taken to social media to actively share techniques and exercises that have helped him accomplish just that. In a recent Instagram post, Gaspari demonstrates an effective way to tax the hamstrings and lower back with Romanian deadlifts.
Breaking into the IFBB Pro League in 1985, Rich Gaspari stunned with a combination of muscle and definition. During Gaspari’s career, which occurred mostly from the 80s-90s, he was a force to be reckoned with. This was because he had a natural ability to display his muscularity and conditioning on stage. He was even recognized as the first athlete to show striations in his glutes.
Gaspari hit the ground running in the IFBB Pro League. In 1985, at Mr. Olympia, he finished in the top three. Having placed runner-up multiple times on the sport’s brightest stage, Gaspari proved himself as an elite talent against legends such as eight-time Mr. Olympia Lee Haney.
Even though he took fourth place at the 1989 Mr. Olympia, Gaspari continued to build on his legacy with a resounding victory at the first Arnold Classic competition. Leading an illustrious career, “The Dragon Slayer” was inducted into the IFBB Hall of Fame in 2004. Moreover, he was presented with the Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
