The tide is turning for Ronnie Coleman after dealing with another health scare. In a post shared on July 11, 2025, it was revealed that Ronnie Coleman underwent a successful, minimally invasive heart procedure while being treated for sepsis. With the infection now under control, his medical team is shifting focus from critical care to recovery.
It’s been a rough few weeks for the eight-time Mr. Olympia winner. In late June, those close to Coleman informed his fans that he was battling a serious medical condition. Little was known at that time, but updates on his health continued to surface.
After being transferred to a specialized medical facility, Coleman was treated for an infection in his bloodstream. While his condition remained ‘serious but stable,’ doctors explained that he’d have to go under the knife again for an additional surgical procedure. It now appears that it was heart-related to support his quality of life.

“Ronnie’s doctors have managed the source of his bloodstream infection and are now treating it directly—an encouraging step forward.

After discovering that sepsis nearly took his life, Coleman has launched ‘Ronnie Strong,’ an initiative to support his recovery and help bring awareness to this life-threatening condition.
“We’re deeply grateful for the unwavering support and positivity you’ve shown. Inspired by that strength, we’re pledging to help shine a brighter light on the condition that nearly took Ronnie’s life: sepsis.”
“For those asking how to help, Ronnie’s team has launched RONNIE STRONG—an initiative to support his recovery and raise awareness about sepsis. As part of this effort, a portion of the net proceeds from Ronnie Strong will be donated to Sepsis Alliance, the nation’s leading sepsis advocacy nonprofit, to further its mission of saving lives and reducing suffering through education and outreach.”
They intend to provide others with hope who also might be going through a similar situation:
“Our aim is to turn this difficult chapter into a beacon of hope and information for millions around the world. Thank you all for standing with Ronnie.”
Having undergone over 13 surgeries for his neck, back, and spine, Coleman has gone to great lengths to restore his health. As a result of these setbacks, Coleman lost the ability to walk without assistance. Fortunately, thanks to rehabilitation efforts, he guarantees he’ll walk again by 2027. However, it’s unclear how these health issues will affect that timeline.
Coleman looks to be on the road to recovery, and fans couldn’t be happier. Our team at Fitness Volt wishes “The King’ strength as he navigates his latest set of challenges beyond the stage.
