Sam Sulek is quickly making waves in the fitness community. While most have supported this up-and-coming bodybuilder, some remain unconvinced by his unique methods for gains. In a recent YouTube video, Sam Sulek addresses the criticism he has received regarding his unorthodox diet.
At just 21 years old, Sam Sulek has gained millions of followers on social media by documenting his diet and exercise routines. His sheer size and incredible strength have taken the fitness industry by storm. Though he has many fans who show their support, he has just as many viewers who aren’t as approving of his ways.
Followers have suspected that Sulek is using performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) in order to maintain his massive size. Given his young age, there is concern regarding the negative effects the PEDs can have on his growth and overall development down the line.
Additionally, many viewers have pointed out his not-so-healthy way of eating during bulking. Taking back gallons of chocolate milk followed by Krispie Kreme donuts isn’t exactly an example of a balanced diet. There have been discussions about the potential influence this could have on his young followers.

In his defense, former Open star Lee Priest reminds bodybuilders and other fitness influencers of their less-than-ideal habits when they were younger. Priest believes people should just leave Sulek be considering he never explicitly tells his followers to do as he does. Sulek is simply documenting his journey and sharing it with those who are interested.
Sam Sulek Discusses Criticisms Hurled At Him Over ‘Trash Diet’
Lee Priest isn’t the only one to come to Sulek’s defense, Seth Feroce has also discussed the negative media Sulek has gotten since attracting attention online, stating that his attitude is “working for him.” Now, Sulek is speaking up for himself as he takes to YouTube to acknowledge the criticism he has received due to his nontraditional eating habits.
“I do see a lot of comments, ‘How can he eat that much sugar and not get diabetes’, dude I mean obviously I’m not going to speak for you specifically but I mean getting back to like a two-state situation, like if I split myself into two alternate realities, if I ate the way that I’m eating now, ya I’d probably get fucked up for eating what is conventionally referred to as trash” Sulek said.
Following up on why he believes he can maintain such a sugary and calorie-dense diet, Sulek acknowledges that his size and intense training play a huge factor in the way he eats.
“I’m sure I’d just look like a fat lard after a year of zero training and zero activity. Actually, I’m not even pretty sure, I’m certain I would be unrecognizable if that were to happen but there is legit merit in the idea of burning shit off.
Training, weight training, literally having more muscle on your frame you are gonna have a faster metabolism and you couple that with being just a bigger dude with hard training and cardio, which you should be doing, I mean fuck dude.”
Sulek clarifies that while he shares tips that can benefit others on their fitness journeys, he also shares insights that apply only to him.
“Of course, all of this shit that I say, don’t forget that sometimes I do want to say things to you specifically as a rule that you should follow like when I talk about training intensity, your daily cardio, and tracking your macros, Stuff like that I am talking directly to you. I am telling you to do it cause I know that it’s good for you and it’s going to result in more progress for you.
Sometimes when I say this shit I’m really almost talking to myself in the past. I’m just sorta revisiting lessons that I’ve gone through in my own training that applies to me specifically and maybe to nobody else.”
Sam Sulek acknowledges that what he chooses to do may not work for everyone. He believes that trying various options and assessing the results is the best way to determine what works for each individual.
“So take everything with a grain of salt if I say anything that’s a little crazy but I mean I don’t say it for no reason. I don’t say this shit just out of the blue for shock factor. I’m saying it cause I’ve lived it and that’s how I’m going about it. What better way to learn and understand how shit works than to do it for yourself and see what happens. You are just going to get such a deep understanding.”
Sulek has gained attention from big names in bodybuilding like five-time Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead. Recently Bumstead praised Sulek stating that he is ‘taking over the world’ and joked that he is just going to retire and let Sulek take over.
While Cbum had nothing but great things to say about Sam Sulek, mass monster Nick Walker didn’t quite feel the same. Walker believes Sulek promoting his diet and PED use is dangerous which could leave an impression on younger fans.
Regardless of the back and forth over Sam Sulek’s questionable fitness tips, it is still safe to say that he has massive potential when it comes to bodybuilding. Fans can anticipate the great things to come for Sam Sulek even though he has yet to compete on stage.
